Well, apparently we who complain are a bunch of elitists. Just follow how this thread goes... won't take too long to read.

I think you're just looking for a fight. I read the thread, he obviously feels differently because it's his show. You expressed your opinion and then he expressed his. He didn't demean you or the people that didn't like the show, nor did I detect a sarcastic response. He simply said the truth. If you don't like it don't watch. He was explaining his audience demographic, not alluding to you being some kind of elitist. Chill out dude you are wound way to tight. By the way I don't care about the show one way or the other, I've seen it a couple of times and it's different, and I can see where the people he's talking about would like it. If you read my posts, you'll see that I would like racing 24/7/365 what I couldn't catch I would DVR. I also know that's NOT going to happen here. I for one, appreciate the guys that take time out of their day to come on here and talk to us. They don't have to, especially since they know they're going to catch some abuse. AA JMHO

I want to get back to the question about "Wrecked". I'm sorry I usually wouldn't speak bad about other wrecker operators but shiney new equipment dosen't make you a heavy duty operator. As others have stated let the air out of the tires and the cardinal rule of operators is take it out the way it went in. How about the driver that drove over the snow bank, now he probably has a twisted frame rail because they wrapped a strap around the belly of the trailer and then twisted the back end. Hey genious, lift the rear of the trailer to stablize and the last time I heard ice can be chipped away or even melted with a torch and just set the trailer down. I'm sorry if I would have called for help on any of those calls I would have been fired, I'd hate to see the bills for any of those calls with all that equipment on scene and doing nothing but trashing two trailers. Last word the show has a big "L" on the door for losers.

I don't understand why a racing channel is going to show a "reality" show based around people that clean up car accidents?

I personally feel that this show sends the wrong message, that to grab people's attention, we have to show mangled up cars. Nodisrespect to the men/women that have this job, but it is not a show that needs to be on speed. Discovery, History, A&E;, sure. Their programming is filled with these type shows. Speed should be about racing, and to some extent, the automotive life.

I just don't understand the programming decisions that the Speed people make.

Wrecked is to SPEED as is what Flour is to Bread as is what Rich Christenson is to PINKS etc., etc., etc.....

Just another way to pay the bills or build an empire as Bill the owner of O'Hare Towing needs to finance his new building and we are the lucky ones who get to see how he does it over and over and over and over and the SPEED train just keeps on a rollin along and Rich Christenson/Robert Ecker, SPEED VP of Programming & PINKS All Out Executive Producer build that golden stairway to heaven.

The American Way !!!

Earneson -- another serious question (no dead rats involved cheese ).

Do certain shows generate more advertising dollars per rating point than others because of the composition of the demographic? For instance, does F1 "punch above its weight" for generating ad dollars because it is an affluent demographic? Do NASCAR programs punch above their weight because their fans are so rabidly loyal?

You probably wouldn't answer this, but I'll ask -- how about the converse for, say, Low Life?

Thanks in advance for your consideration!

they're advertising the daylights out of this show.

that way they can get the curiousity seekers to tune in.
that way they can record the ratings before they realize what a piece of garbage the show really is.("cops" with tow trucks.)

then the usual crowd will get in here and tell us about the stellar ratings that the show brings in.
and how real racing can't compete.

we've seen it all before.
this channel is not even on most of our radar screens, until we know that they're actually going to show a real race.

because nothing they show other than an actual race broadcast, appeals to anyone over 18 with a 6th grade education.

I watched the first segment of this show before I turned the channel. It was horrible. Just another stupid reality show with all the workers yelling at each other.

That's my $0.02.

NEW SPEED™ SERIES – WRECKED™ – SETS NETWORK RATINGS MARK WITH PREMIERE EPISODE

The SPEED debut of the new Thursday night original program Wrecked drew 760,000 total viewers and was the highest rated original program premiere in network history, as last week’s debut averaged an impressive Nielsen Household Rating of .74 (534,000 households) and peaking at .85 (615,000 households).

“In 2008, SPEED has put unprecedented effort into developing and building on its list of original programs,” said Steve Craddock, SPEED SVP of Programming. “From the moment we saw the first video on Wrecked, we really had high hopes for this series and after seeing the numbers for the first two episodes, we are thrilled to see the excitement was warranted … Wrecked delivered.”

Wrecked scored well with younger viewers, earning a .85 in the coveted Men 18-49 category, with the 10 o’clock hour ranking No. 3 with Men 18-49 among basic cable networks. The show also delivered a .80 among Men 18-34.

The next set of back-to-back episodes of Wrecked premieres on SPEED Thursday at 10 p.m. ET.
