Why this show "Wrecked?"

I don't understand why a racing channel is going to show a "reality" show based around people that clean up car accidents?
I personally feel that this show sends the wrong message, that to grab people's attention, we have to show mangled up cars. Nodisrespect to the men/women that have this job, but it is not a show that needs to be on speed. Discovery, History, A&E;, sure. Their programming is filled with these type shows. Speed should be about racing, and to some extent, the automotive life.
I just don't understand the programming decisions that the Speed people make.

For those that stopped watching SPEED or for those that don't watch the shows. You all sure do know alot of what's going on.

They tried to shove Texas Hardtails down our throats, what do you expect?

I gave this subject some serious thought and actually posted my thoughts yesterday in another thread. And as soon as I hit "send," I thought, "here you go pre-judging this production before it has even aired." So I deleted it immediately, until I can view it first hand. That, in my estimation, was the least I could do before passing judgment.
That's right, stating anything. Who am I to give my personal opinion on anything I have not seen, read or otherwise witnessed.
Who knows, it may be the best production I have ever viewed that the SPEED Network has aired.
Lord knows I have utilized my criticisms, positive and negative, many times to the good graces and generosity of the SPEED Network for allowing this forum to air my laundry.
The very least I can do is Curb my Tongue (no pun intended) until the Chums from Chicago Complete their Classic Call.

It may very well be a good show. That's not what I am questioning. What I am questioning is should a show like this or other "reality" shows like this be on SPEED?
I see this show as trying to fit in with the "Ice Truckers" or "Deadliest catch" shows on History/Discovery. Even unique whips is a waste and a copy of the other shows out there.
With so much in the world of racing, why does SPEED need to follow the other networks and put on a show that is clearly a copy? Why can't they show DTM or karting, motocross, even a repeat of F1? Hell bring back Top Gear or 5th gear(I forget what the american version was).
Again, no disrespect to the guys that they followed on "Wrecked", but their show should be on another network, not a network supposedly dedicated to racing.

I don't actually have to sample portion of week-old dead rat to know that I probably won't like it.

Because compared to the programs you've mentioned, (DTM, etc. RACING programming) this "reality" crap is practically FREE. They cost very little to produce, there are no airing fees or lisencing fees to pay a sanctioning body, and, if you haven't noticed, and, as folks have mentioned, racing (unless it's NA$CoT, and after GM's announcment yesterday, get ready for some BIG changes there), sppeds priority is no longer racing.

This is exactly what I have been thinking about the show.
It supposedly will have NOTHING to do with going fast and/or racing. It's people cleaning up car crashes... the only possible speed-related bit might be that someone was speeding, crashed, and then had their wreck cleaned up.
Based on what I've read on this forum, speed is losing viewers fast. Nobody likes this reality junk. Well at least me anyway.

Well, I gave it ten minutes and was rewarded with OCC meets Texas hardtails. 1 more stupid &*%$#() program that will curtail actual racing. I'm sure the 12-20 somethings will love it. It looks like a 30 minute you tube video. AA JMHO

Wrecked is just another "fill in" program between Speeds diminishing coverage of motorsports, just like the middle slice of bread in a club sandwich.....you ain't missing nothing. Just because every other network does reality programs doesn't mean Speed should. Pinks was good till it was rerun, rerun, rerun.... Unique Whips is Whipped to death and the lowrider program should be confined to LA.
Wrecks looked interesting for a few minutes, but when they tried to burn the top off the trailer stuck in the tunnel....I had enough....a fifth grader could figure it out.....geez,let the frickin' air outta the trailer tires. No more Wrecks, Whips or old Pinks for me.
