My biggest worry about the American adaptation is sponsors. If car companies are sponsoring the show, how can it be trusted to give honest opinions about them?
With Adam Carolla in the mix, I doubt we'll have to worry about (meaningful) honest opinions anyway.
Even on the BBC version, I could do without James May most of the time. But overall, I love the show. Just based on the cast that's been announced, I'll probably avoid the Americanized version.

Top Gear is a terrible show! They seldom bother to get their facts right. They focus more on entertainment than education.
They're the NASCAR of automotive television shows!
Fifth Gear is the superior show.

People with Sony PS3s & Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will be interested to know that GTTV will launch on the PS3 in August. Racing and car related shows from around the world (including Top Gear) will be aired:

While I think Adam Corolla is funny, I don't think an "americanized" version of Top Gear will work. Like others have mentioned, the chemestry with James, Jimmy and Richard is what makes the show work. I really love the original Top Gear and wish NBC would leave it alone. If they want their own car show, call it something else, but calling it Top Gear is a travesty to the original.
NBC's programming MO right now seems to be copying foriegn TV shows and "americanizing" them(dumbing them down). The Office, and now the Japanese game show rip-off they have now(which is an EXACT copy, just dumb american commentators).
If this "Americanized" Top Gear gets through a season I will be surprised.

TOP GEAR is fantastic!!!! Catch it on the BBC channel. Any chance that an American version will work is fantasy. This is the kind of show we SHOULD see on SPEED. Instead we get junk like WRECKED, Life in the low lane, and pass time. JUNK JUNK JUNK

Exactly my opinion too. But it will be good to have another show around that's at least similar to top gear. The real top gear that is, lol.

I would have thought of all the shows Speed would have tried to create was a TopGear like show. But instead we get crap like life in the low lame and Passtime... Sad Sad Sad...

Speed likes to passtime by uniquely whipping up their lowriders, all out pimping their pinks on Barrett Jackson, and rerun them over and over until the viewers are WRECKED!!

You are so wrong on this. Top Gear rules because of the humor and wit among the presenters in terms of an automotive show. Clarkson is blunt about certain types of vehicles. Fifth Gear is boring anyway.
