America's two top series had the most effed up, amateurish driving I've ever seen this weekend.
The last part of the Cup race, ridiculous.
The yellow flag shunts in the Indy car race, inexcusable...
Easily the most un-professional driving I've ever seen,
and both in the same weekend???
Both series should be embarrassed.

You missed the soaking wet spinfest on SPEED today, the British Grand Prix? Kimi must have spun about four times, and his Ferrari teammate Massa outdid him 2-to-1. Even the winner Lewis Hamilton had a couple of trips off course. So even the world's best can have some issues.
Add in the Cup and IRL events, the Rolex race on Thursday, and the racing parts suppliers had a great weekend.

There was a demo derby at a local short track this weekend. I'm pretty sure the pros in F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, and Grand-Am caused more destruction than took place there.

Are you serious? The F1 drivers put on a master class on a wet track - Richmond, Daytona, and the Glen where jokes...have you SEEN our drivers in the wet? It's pathetic...

Hello Stephen,
I fully agree with you that Richmond and the Glen were jokes (about 5 hours of my life I will never get back). I didn't watch Daytona so can't comment. Like you, I also hold F1 drivers in the highest esteem as the best drivers in the world.
All that said, I'm not sure I'd point to yesterday's GP as a shining example to support that position. Of the top 6 drivers (going into Silverstone), the points leader (Massa) thoroughly embarrassed himself, the guy second in points (Kubica) spun himself out of the race, and 3 of the other 4 had offs. Of the 20 drivers on the grid, at least 15 (IIRC) had self-induced spins. The only drive I'd classify as Master Class was Hamilton's. Heidfeld had some good and less-great moments. Barichello benefitted from a tire gamble that paid off hugely (but credit to him for executing it).
Regards.

Yep, there was that one BIG difference: F1 was on a wet track with occasional downpours; the other two wreckfests were dry tracks, and one with (as advertized!) "the best drivers in the world!"

I see your point Porsche80. What I was getting at was that EVERYBODY had crashfests this weekend, from the Rolex on Thursday through IRL at the Glen yesterday, and even carried on today by NASCAR West at Sonoma via two week tape delay. I didn't mean to diss F1 by any means, just saying that due to some almost flooding conditions at Silverstone, even the usually rather incident free F1 was as wild as a full moon night at the local dirt track.
