Watched last night's Daytona race and the announcing crew has to be the worst in the history of TV. They misses half the race while they shot-the-$hit about various other booring things. They never even asked WHY Kurt Bush didn't help out his brother in the end. It took Carl Edwards to say he knew they were not the best of friends. But why not, when they interviewed Kurt Bush, didn't the FLUFF reporter ask him directy...but not a single word about brother Kyle. HUH??? And poor Kyle Petty. He's probably the worst. Nice guy but in the wrong job.
Can they bring back Mike Joy and the gang? He would have been all over that finish.

They even missed the trash being thrown at Bush after his win. Not even one mention of those cowardly a-holes that throw stuff at who is clearly the best driver in NASCAR this season. If only Jr. could drive like that. They'd be naming towns and kids after him...wait...they probably do that now! Maybe name a state after him.

That was on TNT, correct?

Dave will NOT comment on the broadcast team at TNT.

“Crap programs” are anything that I don’t like.

“Because I don’t watch it” means that nobody watches it either.

I have to agree that TNT's coverage is not great. I prefer the fox coverage. I live in Canada and only get basic cable TV, which i get fox when they cover the races but since TNT takes over only Canada's TSN airs the race and not every weekend. so far since TNT took over I was unable to get the loudon race last week or the michigan race a few weeks earlier. Nascar fans don't only live in the USA and Nascar needs to improve their coverage outside the country. And not to mention TSN kept interupting the TNT `wide open coverage` to show their own commercials every 2 minutes or so.

And on Kyle busch, I`m not realyy a Kyle Busch fan, however, I wish every driver raced like he does, he gives it everything the whole race, none of this give and take right time BS that everyone keeps talking about. i want to watch the whole race but it`s just so boring with guys just letting each other go for the first three quarters of the race and only start racing towards the end. Nascar needs to consider something to bring back the racing early in the race, bring back the half way bonus or something, something to make drivers want to RACE the whole thing not just at the end.

My father use to tell me "there is an ass for every seat" and he was right.
I thought last night's broadcast crew was GREAT, especially Kyle Petty.
I thought they did a great job calling the race, and the banter was refreshing.
I guess thats why there is more than one flavor at the ice cream store.

TNT=the best current NASCAR broadcast. Especially when the use the "Wide Open" coverage, meaning we still get to actually see the race instead of two lap blocks of racing between commercial segments.

FOX= gopher cams, boogity boogity, lots of commercials, and way too much time trying to make a NASCAR Cup car look high tech via all the attention they give to the Cutaway car.

ESPN has Rusty Wallace in the booth, need I say more? sick

I agree, they are good.

Old school in delivery. Not like Fox where they all try to be the show instead of just calling the show. Waltrip, Hammond, McReynolds and crew fall over each other trying to outdo each other's comments. I for one am glad to not hear "boogity...." and "pull those belt straps.....ect" anymore this year. The amazing things is, since McReynolds went to TNT, is he has been more reserved and easier to listen to with the TNT crew. The only good announcer on Fox is Joy, and even he is getting a little old trying to force listeners to say stuff like "we decided we are going to call the former 'Bush Whackers' are now 'Claim Jumpers'". I guess I am getting old, but I just find that stuff annoying. Just call them Cup regulars, not everything needs a cute nickname. Like the nicknamed 'gopher cam' getting another nickname on top of that, and for another cute angle, let's sell a t-shirt.....I could go on and on, but I will stop there....back to the racing.
