I never been a HMS fan but Hendrick has been ahead of the curve for sometime now.
IMO the move by Martin to HMS was more of the same. Sponsor dollars are drying up
and Martin would lock down a sponsor more so than Mears for the 5 car. Hendrick is making
a smart business descion.
If you need a pitchman for your product, would pick Mears over Martin?
The 3 year contracts for lesser drivers may be a thing of the past.

I could see Rick doin this in part that Mark gets sponsers, but i think its more he is bad azz driver and dont tear every car in the shop up
