I was at the race and people were all standing up for the last lap. The fans really enjoyed the finish. I heard some sat that they will be back for the rolex 24.

I was looking at the GT results and it was great to see the Speedsource team on top once again. What was surprising though was to see the Porsche on the podium as well over the Pontiacs. Maybe changing the race weights has changed things a little because Porsche has been coming strong as of late. I know both probably want some weight on the Mazdas though which would suck because I like to see the Mazdas matching up well against the Pontiac/Porsche giants.

Banner had complained about how slow the GXP.R was at Daytona before (pushing a barn door through the air). Combine that with both the weight increase on the Pontiacs and the reduction in ride height which should help out the Porsche and it's not surprising that Porsche did better in the race. Now if the GT tire problems get fixed I'd think the Porsches should also do well at other venues.

...and apparently...who cares...?

Evidently not very many people. Seems like the only fans that threw their two cents into this thread regarding the GA race last night were regulars on the NASCAR board, and LittleAlGuy who I see on all the boards.

I beg your pardon - I never have and never will visit the NASCAR board.

We'll probably survive

All two dozen? wink

Watched on TV. This was a fairly exciting finish. The main stands looked fairly empty, though. Probably because of the day (night?) of the week they held the race? grrr

Most of the people were sitting in the Sprint, Earnhardt and Petty Towers. I thought there was more people this year than last year.
