A reminder of the Qualifying Procedure:
The popular “Firestone Fast Six” shootout for starting positions on the first three rows returns for 2008, but instead of single-lap qualifying there will be three knockout rounds to determine who participates in the 10-minute session.
-- Two groups of randomly assigned cars compete for 20 minutes each. The fastest six cars from each group advance to another round of qualifying. The remaining cars will set positions 13 down on the starting grid based on fastest lap time.
-- The 12 advancing cars enter a 15-minute group qualifying session with all previous times voided. Following that session, the fastest six cars will advance to the Firestone Fast Six. The remaining six cars will fill positions 7-12 on the starting grid based on their fastest laps from that session.
-- Once again, all times will be erased and the six finalists will battle for 10 minutes with the PEAK Motor Oil Pole Award as the prize based on lap time. It also sets the remainder of the first three rows.

Anybody else having Java issues with live timing and scoring?
Yes. I'm having issues also. I hope the powers that be at the IRL website reaize how maddening it is for hardcore base members that take time out of their days to follow practices and qualifying online to experience so many issues with a simple scoring feed. I don't know what their problem is. It seems that every session something changes. Sometimes it loads fine, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it tells you to reinstall flash. Sometimes the cam works, sometimes not. How hard can this be?

I think I need to find a copy of the Jay Giles bands "Freeze Frame" and play it while I am trying to watch the video feed!

Howard has been off the pace all weekend. Hopefully they can pick up speed for qualifying. Could be a long weekend for Roth Racing.

Looks like NHL is spending some money this year on that boy. He may not qualify today.

Graham Rahal hits the wall, damaging his Left/Front suspension. Ran wide in the Toe Of the boot & drove straght into the tyre wall, a fair bit of damage to the front end.
That's an odd place to go off unless he had some help. Was the incident on entry or exit?
