Turbo engine formula. Now. Please. Thank you. And I guess by "now" I mean 2011, but you get the idea.

we can only hope that they can come up with a formula that will attract the most players, if not,IRL will go the way of the albatross.

How come they can't just change it for next year with Honda, the sooner ya get turbos back in the cars the better

Bring the turbo back and increase the RPM slightly toincrease HP while not sacrificing reliabilty. Pop off valves are not an issue due to ECM's in current turbo engines

Turbo's will certainly help on the road and street courses, but with competition will come increased costs and increased speeds. Indycar needs to be able to control both of these tightly or the past mistakes of CART will be repeated.

I would like a I-4 turbo and not a short stroke engine, more torque and less RPM.

I certainly hope they open the field of engines! I get so tired of the spec-car racing, both here and in NASCAR. Let's have some real competition.

EXCELLENT news. The IRL being essentially a spec series with the Honda motors (which sounds like a swarm of bees) isn't exciting at all.

Unless Chevrolet can rationalize how putting their name on an IRL engine can 1) sell more +2-ton trucks, or 2) develop alternative fuel or hybrid technology, they have no place in IRL racing. That is, of course, unless they want to divert some of the hundreds of millions they hand over to NASCAR every year to run a generic Cup car with Chevy decals. wink
