Xaus has joined the official BMW team for next year and was testing at Brno this past week.

Sterilgarda Ducati is likely to loose both riders now as Max is pining for Bayliss' spot on the factory team.

With Aprilia and KTM coming in, this looks like a really good year for SBK.

wow! that's a big move right there. i think bmw need a good german rider on the other bike. maybe they could grab alex hoffman (although he has tested the aprilia, so that may be his eventual home).

i think max hopes he gets the xerox ride, although i think there is stiff competition for that seat.

edit: is it within xaus' contract to allow testing for an opposing team during the season? that seems well, unseemly.

Is Solo Moto a sound source of information or is that just a rumor? I thought that BMW would be looking for a German rider plus I thought that Xaus was also trying to get on the Ducati factory team. In terms of Max getting the factory ride he better start improving his results for the second half of the season. Hopefully he's fully recovered from injuries by now. I wonder if Ducati will be looking for two riders one for Bayliss's vacant seat and one for Fabrizio's? Has he proven to be worthy?

I agree next season should be great with BMW and Aprilia coming into the series. In terms of KTM I thought they are doing superstock in '09 then maybe WSB in 2010. It would be nice to see Triumph, MV Augusta and Binelli in the series at some point to.

Well, Motosprint ran (came out yesterday) a big two page spread saying "Corser and Xaus to BMW"... so there you have it.

BMW supposedly went after Nuekerchnier pretty hard, but couldn't seal the deal. Corser makes a lot of sense to develop the bike, and Xaus makes a lot of sense if they want their mechanics to get a lot of practice fixing crash damage.

Rumors of Corser to BMW have been going around for a while. Some of it could be wishful thinking though (eithee on the part of Corser or BMW). Corser could use it for leverage in negotiating with Yamaha since his results of late haven't given him a lot. BMW could use it as leverage in negotiating with other riders.
