from the article "The formula itself basically is kind of a club racing formula, where there are horsepower and weight limitations and spec tires and spec fuel. "

i don't know of a club that has hp limits, weight limits, spec tires or a spec fuel. they all break up classes like the previous ama did w/ cc and modification limits. that's an ignorant statement i think

What a mess, I bet all the manufacturers sit out 2009. There's no way everyone will be able to agree on everything in enough time to be ready.

I'd need to have a RRW in front of me and I don't but I know that some of the regional results in the back mention weight/hp post race tech inspections. I just can't remember the specific series these are in. It wasn't the MotoST results. Anybody ?

Nope. Also if I remember a few issues back there was an article about a particular club using a spec fuel for one season to try and save folks money. The story was a a review of the pros and cons that were experienced by the racers and suppliers during the first year of running a spec fuel. Once again I can't remember the series. Really zoot you need to stop just looking at the pictures.

now... you boys play nice... i remember a time when this BBS was less confrontational and a person could enjoy friendly banter back and forth... oh, how i long for the days of my youth...

wink (nothing but love zoot)

yes, there is a club that does weight and power limits... i do not recall exactly which one it is, but, ASRA comes to mind...

Loudon race series was the one that went to spec fuel... as i recall, the fuel supplier was losiing too much money on the deal and somehting is going to have to change...

Yep those are the ones. The Loudon series was the spec fuel series. You could either use the spec fuel or pump gas.

Me and Zoot play nice ??? Never !!!

Well, weight/power restrictions aside, DMG's attitude of trying to create a class for almost every bike out there does seem a bit 'clubby' to me. I do hope the mfg's start their own series. I'm not going to watch a dumbed-down version of Snoremula Extremelyboring.
