INDIANAPOLIS - A key component of the 35th anniversary season for the Cooper Tires Presents The Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda has finally fallen into place as Atlantic Championship President Vicki O'Connor and officials from the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) announced today that IMSA has agreed to sanction Atlantic Championship events for the 2008 season.

Good for them. They deserve to have a world class organization pick them up. I would imagine they will run some of the same venues as the ALMS, which means they could also run some of the events that the IRL runs at. What a weekend that would be if all four series ran. Atlantics, ALMS, Indy Lights and IndyCar's.

Atlantics, ALMS, Indy Lights and IndyCar's.Even better have ALMS, Indycar -> Indy Lights -> Formula Atlantic -> Star Mazda -> Barber National or Formula Ford 2000. Have those 6 series at Mid-Ohio, and Road America and the fans will turn out in droves. It would be great to see all 5 tiers in the Open Wheel development ladder at one track.
