Fans are invited to attend the totally-free Moto Monday, June 23, when the top factory riders and teams from the AMA Superbike Championship will be conducting an important pre-race test at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda factory teams and riders are using the test session to prepare for two of the most significant AMA rounds of the 2008 season – the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix (July 18-20) and the season-ending Corona AMA Superbike Finale (Sept. 27 & 28).

Why would the factory Superbike teams invest time and money in testing for a class that will not exist past September? I can't imagine that they are interested in developing the bikes any further and if they want to test parts for their street bikes, they can do that anytime, anywhere. I guess the same would go for the Supersport teams.

They also have had this test scheduled for a long time and are not just going to go home.
I don't think the OEMS have just given up on American Superbike and I dont't believe this issue with DMG is over. There will be a lot of turmoil before this is settled. At some point someone (either at DMG or the AMA) will realize this is not going well and adjustments must be made. The OEMS have a lot of their business riding on racing in this country and are going away without a fight.

They race that weekend and get minimal testing time once the GP crowd shows up.

Link says there will be a Q&A;session with AMA riders. It would be pretty awesome to go in there and stir it up with Mat and Ben about the DMG takeover... see what the real story is.

That would be a hoot.
So Mat, whens the last time you've ridden a 600?

And when do you next plan to ride one?

Looks like Wayne Rainey will also be there!
Wouldn't it be great to get Mladin AND Rainey's take on AMA/DMG.
Two different perspectives. Wonder if they share the same concerns?
Man, I'd love to be there but I gots to work!

I wonder if Rainey is up on all of this. I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't keep up with AMA.

I think I read once that he still keeps up with everything. I'm sure he has an opinion on it. That would be a good question to ask of him there. I'm sure somebody will ask. That seems like something Dean A. would get the scoop on.

I saw Wayne in the paddock at Laguna during last year's Superbike season finale. I asked for a photo (my GF took a great one of the me and Wayne). He seemed to be very interested in AMA, SBK and MotoGP.
I wonder if Ben Spies will make tommorow's test, now that he's not doing Assen next week? (Caprirosi says he'll be there)
