In all the years he’s been going to the races, John Davis had never seen anything like this.
The thing is, though, he wishes he could forget it.
Davis watched in stunned disbelief Saturday night at Marion Center Speedway when another driver allegedly threw a sucker punch that hit Rick Davis, John’s brother, and was so vicious that Rick Davis had to be flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
“I’ve never seen anything like that in my lifetime,” John Davis said. “I’ve seen other guys get into scuffles, some punches thrown. But nothing like this. … It’s a shame it happened. The guy had no reason to do to my brother what he did.”
John Davis said his brother, who lives in Home and works at Lias Tire in White Township, was released from the hospital Tuesday night after being treated for a broken skull and a broken cheekbone.

First off, my thoughts and prayers to the victim. I hope that the @#$%&'er that attacked him (and I hope you read this) gets punished to the fullest extent of the law. Fist fighting is one thing, we have all seen it and maybe even done it, but to attack someone from behind with some object and injure them so badly that it could and more than likely will end this guy's racing career is pathetic and the action of a real wimp!
