I was referring to the people that insist on insulting every other rider but their favorite. I for one try not to do that. Sorry if my comment hit a bit close to home.
I think if you read my posts you'll find that isn't the case with me. It's when people imply their opinion is solely the one to value that gets me. If these guys think Rossi is worth the money, great. In fact, I concur - but I agree that there isn't a bad rider in the field, and if you look at the times they're all pretty damned close.

if RR lived in England or Bellwhiff lived in Italy, they would be like peas and carrots...
everybody who has an interest in GPs wants to see what Spies can do... Suzuki and MotoGP both get more mileage out of having Spies on the grid than someone that has not won a race in their respective national series...

Looks like Spies is setup for back 2 back weekends. He's confirmed for Assen according to

Benamino Spies should be OK. Give him a decent ride and he'll do fine.
ILMH, Parts wise the Norton is fine. An AMC box wouldn't go amiss. But if you're in a Rudge collecting mood maybe you could pop over to Ireland and grab this one for me. I have the address.

And anyway, Spies shouldn't have got the ride, Tom Sykes should have.
As nice as it would be to have a British rider sub at Donington, Sykes is not a GP prospect at this time, Spies is. It is much more useful to Suzuki's efforts to give a potential 2009 GP rider more seat time than to give a national championship rider who has yet to win a race seat time.
Apparently not if you're British!!
That's about the 10th time I've heard Sykes name brought up, and oddly enough everyone who did lives on the same Island.
Probably because there are a few of you out there who have no knowledge of national championships outside of their own.
Insularity eh? tut.
Spies is going to get more than enough of an opportunity to swing his leg over the GSV-R. It would have been good publicity for Suzuki to put a British RIZLA Suzuki rider on the RIZLA Suzuki at the BRITISH GP.
He even has the same team boss. Wouldn't even had to sort out new leathers.
I look to see who won, Bell, but I can't watch whether I want to or not. That said, Sykes is not dominating your national championship so I'm fuzzy as to why he is more deserving - especially considering that had it not been Spies it probably would have been Aoki.
The GSXR-1000 in BSB is up against some full factory teams and some extremely high quality riders. Despite the fact that Shakey Byrne is off with it this season, the depth in the field, in terms of machinery and riders is deep. Tom Sykes has Paul Denning as a boss. He is a great prospect, and especially seeing that I will be seeing Spies at Assen too, I was just thinking that it might be a good thing that with it being Donington, that they show some encouragement to the British paddock.
I strongly resent which ever person implied that I am as blinkered as Rolfo. I am even handed when it comes to riders. It goes without saying that I am encouraged by the improving state of Brits in the MotoGP paddock, and I am merely showing some defence to unwarranted attacks on JT by Rolfo. Do you see me criticising ANY rider because of their nationality? I don't think so. Rolfo has a big anti British chip on his shoulder.
I personally am looking forwards to seeing how Ben measures up. I am pleased that he is getting a chance. I do think that he'll do well to get in the top 10, and will be cheering for him.
This isn't really a national thing, I just thought that it would have been a good thing to see an extra Brit on the track at the Brit GP. Wheres the problem in that??

I'd sooner come back with a BSA or Norton. Just depends who I have to sleep with to get a good deal...Rudge is 3rd on the list.(I need to stop stalking Ben).......JUST KIDDING !!!........BEEN FAITHFUL ..27 YRS

(I must of had to much Guinness) Speaking of Guinness.... My mate is coming over with me, she's never been abroad.Taking a side trip from L'pool to Shannon is 20 quid return..She wants to go visit Jamieson? (she likes Guinness as well, amazing)
I'm after my buddy's Goldstar. Maybe I can race ya on the flats
As for Ben

He needs to watch the double hairpin at Donington....Nasty.... The only problem he'll have is frozen.......knees

. It's friggin' cold that neck of the woods...Winds blows right thro you. Kinda ant-twacky place.

I was simply saying that I've seen Sykes name from a number of Brits and no one else, whereas a number of different nationalities are curious about Spies - even RR, although he expects failure.
I stand by 'if you want a GP ride, dominate your national championship'. Doing well won't get you noticed by the GP paddock.

He did win the SS championship, but in his case it's partially his name. I assume you know he doesn't have a wild-card this year.
