Reminds me of my 3/3 weekend in PA back in 1990. Big Diamond on friday, Evergreen on Saturday, and Pocono on Sunday. Good memories until I realized that it was 18 years ago......geeeeze, that's depressing.)

Yep, Mountain was Evergreen until 2000. Should be a fun day, going to Pocono without the hassle associated with a Cup race... And then asphalt Mods + TQs later that evening. And it's all not that far from home for me!
I'm still looking forward to seeing URC @ Grandview (PA) and the New Egypt (NJ) in the following weeks. URC is probably my favorite series right now, as it's just really competitive... There easily and honestly at least 8-10 cars that can win every week, perhaps more. Have fun!:)

Dave Ely of West Lawn, PA delivered a near perfect night for car owner Gene Franckowiak as he won his qualifying heat race as well as the 25 lap URC Rislone Sprint Series feature event Saturday night at the Lincoln Speedway. Franckowiak, a URC member who has strong opinions on keeping the cost of racing down, was quick to point out that the feature winning car was a design of the 1998 Wolf/Weld chassis that was powered by Daisy, a thirteen year old power-plant that carried Dave Ely to victory. Ely led the entire twenty-five lap distance taking the win over Trevor Lewis who was driving the Scott McClaren owned #21 with Justin Collett third, Curt Michael fourth and Brian Seidel fifth. This event is part of the Valley Forge Inc PA Point Series.
A field of thirty-eight URC sprint cars turned out for the hot night of racing at Lincoln Speedway, always a favorite stop of the URC drivers. Four heat race events were presented with victories going to Justin Collett, Dave Ely, Brian Seidel and Trevor Lewis as Chad Layton won the "B" Main.
Collett and Ely brought the field down for the green flag in the feature event, but before the first lap was complete, the red flag was displayed when Becca Anderson flipped in turn one. Anderson walked away uninjured. On the restart, Ely darted into the lead and quickly ran to hide from the rest of the field. Trevor Lewis immediately moved into second and began his chase after Ely.
With plenty of green flag racing, the field quickly came up on the halfway point of the race with Ely still in a comfortable lead over Lewis, Collett, Curt Michael and Brian Seidel. Another driver moving into the picture was Jason Clauss, who broke into the top five on lap fifteen. Seidel fought back to regain the fifth position. With just five laps remaining, Ely began to approach slower traffic and Lewis and Collett moved within challenging distance of the leaders.
With just two laps remaining, there was a three car race for a lead but with the checker flag waiving, Ely took the win, his second of the year and tenth career win with URC. Trevor Lewis finished second with Justin Collett third, Curt Michael fourth and Brian Seidel fifth.
FEATURE FINISH----Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Justin Collett, Curt Michael, Brian Seidel, Kramer Williamson, Jason Clauss, Rory Jenne, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner, Josh Weller, JJ Grasso, Jimmy Reppert, Randy West, Davey Sammons, Ed Aikin, Brett Schoenly, Kyle Purks, Robbie Stillwaggon, Jamie Bodo, Brandon Weibley, Chad Layton, Gary Gollub, Gene Lasker, Becca Anderson.
DNQ- -Judi Bates, Dave Gravel, Dave Betts, Mike Kostic, Ryan Dolan, Keith Prutzman, Chuck Palmucci, Todd Rittenhouse Jr., Jon Eldreth, Gary Gollub, Adam Gordon, Joey Biasi, Scott Pursell.

Hanover’s Cris Eash had not won a 410 sprint feature since September 25th, 2004. Retiring shortly after his last win, Eash announced his retirement to spend more time with wife Amy and the kids. He spent a couple years watching weekly from the grandstands, and eventually returned to his other love - racing.
Saturday night, the former World of Outlaw Rookie of the Year completed the comeback by winning not one, but two features in the same night.
"I have goose bumps right now like it’s my very first race I ever won," said a visibly emotional Eash after scoring Lincoln career win #39 in the remainder of the May 17th show which started the night, "My brother Darren is one heck-of-a mechanic. Sorry my Dad’s not here tonight...he’s in Europe. We came back to have fun doing this deal, and it’s so much more fun with my family."
Eash lined up third with six laps completed, inherited the lead when race leader Cory Haas spun while trying to hold off the E&G;Classics #17E on turn four of lap 14, then led the rest of the way to take the checkered .78 seconds ahead of Alan Krimes. Eash became the 8th different Lincoln winner of 2008.
Nick Schlauch, Jr., who graduated earlier in the week from Archbishop Wood High School, crossed third, with Josh Wells and Michael Carber completing the top five. Sixth through tenth were Adam Lawrence, Aaron Ott, Niki Young, Chad Jumper, and Bobby Howard.
Career win number 40 came a few hours later, when Eash again took the lead on lap 14 and held off the late-race charges of high-flying "The Edge" Brian Montieth.
"He’s pretty crazy, and he likes to run that wall," said Eash on Montieth’s last lap charge for the lead. "There is really nobody around here that does it better than him...we were just lucky to hold on."
Eash’s final margin of victory was .66 seconds, down significantly from the 5-second lead he enjoyed as he reached lapped traffic with two laps to go. Montieth was featured driver of the night, in a car sponsored by race-night sponsors Premier Auto Works and Auto Locator.

Me and born4racing actually left Pocono a bit early (yellow fever up there too) just so we could make it to Lincoln. Boy were we not disappointed!!
The 410 races were both excellent, particularly the 2nd one to me... The URC race was more interesting than most wire-to-wire wins, but it's too bad that yellow came out in the middle. It looked like Trevor Lewis might've been catching Ely in traffic, as they were otherwise pretty evenly matched. No sweat, I've followed Dave Ely for a few years; always nice to see him get a win.
Good day of racing all in all, even if it did take 9+ hours to get home! (long story!)
