Chevy won 26 races last year and nobody seemed to care. What's the big deal about Toyota.

Do the math Last year Toyota had 6 cars on track now has 9
Chevy had 16 now has 13
Dodge had 10 now 11
Ford had 14 now 13 R Gordon went to dodge

and now Toyota is dominating in two series at the same time through 1 team of three cars. Also they have admited to leting toyota have 30 more horse power.

If all of the Toyotas had 30 more horsepower, wouldn't they all be up front? Or is it just Kyle's car that has the extra ponies? I'm not a Nascar expert so plese educate me.

Here's some more math:

Nationwide Series -----

In the 1st 20 races Toyota has only dominated the first of the top ten positions. Chevy has dominated the other nine. Of the 14 Toyota wins, 13 were by JGR drivers and the 14th was for another team by a JGR driver. Even a blind man can see what's going on here. It's not a Toyota horsepower advantage that's producing the wins. JGR is simply out-teching everyone else at this point in time. That team knows something everyone else has yet to learn.

Even more math:

Most of us are aware that NASCAR pulled 10 Nationwide engines for testing after Chicagoland. Here'a an exerpt from an article on NASCAR.com addressing some findings after the Milwaukee Mile Race:

*** Does Toyota have a horsepower advantage, as non-Toyota teams have claimed? The last set of dynamometer numbers, taken after Carl Edwards won in a Ford at Milwaukee, would support that assertion. A garage source told Sporting News that Edwards' peak horsepower was measured at 611, compared with 632 for the No. 20 Toyota, 628 for the No. 40 Dodge and 612 for the No. 88 Chevrolet. ***

Interestingly, Edwards Ford scored lowest in horsepower. Just as interesting is the fact that he won the race.

Sometimes you have to slow down to go fast... Wasn't there a recent race that Ky. was down a cylinder, but was killing everyone in the the corners?

What kind of "special" allowances did NASCAR give Toyota this year. I find it hard to believe just because JGR uses Toyotas make that big of a difference from last year when the Toyota teams had a hard time just qualifing, and couldn't even come close to the speeds that chev, ford, and dodge were running. I think back when Ford had a hard time running against GM and Dodge, the next year Davey Allison in the Havoline 42 Ford couldn't be touched, this year reminds alot of that year camparing Davey with Kyle. I think that Nascar caved into Toyota's enormous money and made some special allowances...Just a thought.

Why do you just assume that if one brand does better than before it must be NASCAR's doing? NASCAR isn't that competent. Give credit to the engineers who made the difference.
