I thought I heard a rumor once a couple years ago that Zanardi was wanting to race at Indy in a specially-prepared car for him.

I guess nothing came of it, but does anyone else remember that?

I agree with most on this board. Wasn't a fan of his, but it would've been neat to see the driver of the black #3 in an Indycar.

Casey Mears

He tried to qualify one year for Galles and did not make the field.

Michel Jourdain, Jr

He did race in the Indy 500. He finished 13th in 1996 racing for Andy Evans' team.

With the recent blendification I will stick with past CART drivers that didn't get the opportunity to race at INDY

#1 Alex Zanardi Of all the BS from the split The saddest part for me is not seing him compete at INDY!!

#2 Greg Moore RIP

#3 Damatta Hopefully if his health is good and he wants to run he will get the opportunity

Newman stated that Daytona was always the goal and not Indy.

Kahne on the other hand....Kahne did test for Panther racing a while back. The most disappointed he'd ever been after losing a race was the 2005 Brickyard 400 that he lost to Stewart. It seems that to him, like Stewart, Indy and Daytona are equal.
