Has anyone been to the Anderson Speedway for the Little 500? I have a great weekend planned with going to the Indy Lights on Friday, Little 500 on Saturday and the 500 on Sunday. Looking forward to a fun racing weekend. Any thoughts on the Little 500? I'd appreciate it. Have a good weekend!

I've been to every Little 500 since 1979. If you like pavement sprint cars, you gotta see this race at least once. The start is worth the admission. 33 cars on a 1/4 mile track in 11 rows of 3 racing into turn 1. Two mandatory pit stops (one in the first 250 laps, one in the second 250). High banks allow for side by side racing all night. Granted, part of it is the leaders lapping slower cars but still fun to watch. Be prepared, try to watch who has pitted & who hasn't so you'll know who's leading & who's lapped. Some teams will change to a new right rear tire during their stop, so you'll know who may be faster after the restart. Also, if it rains, they'll do everything possible to get the race in Saturday night because some of the teams have a long haul back home, especially to Florida. Hope you enjoy it!

That's a race I always wanted to see but never did. I grew up in Michigan, around paved late models, so I never got down there. I did read a lot about the race in the racing papers though and noticed there were several Michigan drivers that were pretty competitive. Then I spent a lot of time in Florida and noticed a lot of Tampa area drivers were in that event. thing. Frank Riddle was one who really did quite well. Those Golden Gate and Sunshine Speedway sprinters could really put on a show.

Now that is the type of thing SPEED would show if they wanted to be an all-inclusive racing network. But they don't so they won't.

To really complete your weekend, you should check out the Hoosier Hundred on Friday night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds...dirt champ cars on a mile dirt track...
Also, depending which way you're going home, Kokomo and Haubstadt both have Sunday night races this weekend.
