Button and Vettle? LMAO!!! Vettle is being schooled by his teammate this year (starting two places behind Bourdais in this event) and Button has won one race in his entire career.

You don't think the "better" cars in dry conditions aren't going to have an advantage in the wet?

You'll be L'ing out the other side of your A if it rains. Those of us that have been watching this for a while know that anything can happen at Monaco, and everything will happen at a wet Monaco. If tit rains, I'll bet my house that less than half the field finishes. Olivier Panis' one and only votory was at Monaco in the rain. He survived the attrition. There were only six other finishers, and Irvine was seven laps down, in a Ferrari. Mika Hakkinen was only two laps up on Eddie, for a five lap deficit on Panis. To give you perspective, only nine victories for the Ligier team in their twenty years of F1. This could be Fisi's big race for Force India if it rains.
Monaco has a reputation for grinding up half the grid on a good day, and it just gets worse in the wet. I'd be willing to bet that the average number of finishers for all F1 races at Monaco is somewhere around ten. No more than a dozen, give or take. Sean, if you're reading this, what's that stat, brotha? Remember, there were times that there were thirty racers starting, and ten finished.
LMAO indeed! ; >

OK so it's for a video game but the rough idea isn't that far off.

Another name for some video games is 'simulator'. I've drunk with the guy that was in charge of the Air Forces training simulators, and got to 'fly' quite a few of their aircraft as a payback for buying the booze. Twenty years later, some of the 'video games' that I'm seeing are looking rather familiar, albeit with much better graphics. Some of the drivers use those 'video games' to get familiar with the tracks, and they say that the set-ups, while simpler than those of a real F1 car (of course) aren't that far off.

Alonso:

I was expecting to use higher gears in the corners to avoid wheelspin and things like that, but no we are using first gear in the slow corners with not too much wheelspin.

On that checklist, they suggested to use taller gear ratios in the wet.

Looks like they were considering taller than usual (last yr) gears to compensate for the loss of TC in the dry already but then nixed it.

Well weather reports seem to be right, I had the telly on earlier & there was heavy rain for this mornings Porche Supercup race & the clouds looked pretty settled in for the day. Got a call from a chum out there & she's already drenched through! Hmmm, rain drops should fall as diamonds in Monaco, then she wouldn't mind the soaking so much! tongue wink

Rain at this moment, but with this one it is difficult to predict for more than 30 minutes....

It will be slippery nonetheless, first corner can be drama.
