weather.com is saying there's a 30-40% chance of showers tomorrow morning until 11 am, so the first practice session could be a little wet.

Saturday and Sunday still say 60% chance of rain.

A quick shower after Ferraris pit before everyone else did would be a good thing. wink

well youre more than likely not going to get that. i cant recall one race this season where a front running mclaren pitted AFTER a ferrari. they usually have the car a few laps lighter to snag a spot on the front 2 rows. they make it up by going longer in stint 2 and 3, opposite of ferrari. so theres really no disadvantage to it per say, but they are usually lighter to start a race.

That is some cool temps there aside from the rain issues. Not exactly bikini weather.

Showers in Qualifying could really shuffle the grid.

Well it's nice & sunny now for practice!

Personally, I like a bit of rain during a race, it adds an extra element of unpredicability.

I doubt rain will have much of an impact. You might see Alonso and some of the better drivers in crap cars move up a place or two. It is unlikely the front runners will vacate those positions.

Remember that a young up and coming whipper snapper named Ayrton Senna in an underdog Toleman Hart TG184 almost nearly won a rain-soaked
Monaco in 1984 on merit based on his later to be highlighted legendary driving prowess in the wet.

In a recent interview, a reporter quoted Lauda as saying that the modern GP cars and winning performance was about 80% car and 20% driver. To which
Alonso in reply said that at Monaco, that drops down to 50/50 car/driver. It is still a "driver's circuit" where driver skill (now without aids (or the aids that we knew about) , as much) matters.

Well, in a wet Monaco, I dare say it may be 40/60 car/driver.

Yes, Monaco in the wet can lead to unusual finishes, with as few as six cars running. Wasn't that Olivier Panis in the Ligier who won once there with only six cars still running?

Was that the last time there was rain on race Sunday? Any other memorable wet Monaco races?

1997? Barrichello finishing second? Sir Jackie emotional afterward?

also in 1997 , Mika Salo finished 5th with a car that would fit right in with today's aero:
