I know it's still pretty early, but weather.com is currently predicting rain for next weekend. Thursday looks clear, but Saturday and Sunday are looking like rain right now. Could be really exciting!

Yes, Monaco in the wet can lead to unusual finishes, with as few as six cars running. Wasn't that Olivier Panis in the Ligier who won once there with only six cars still running?

Was that the last time there was rain on race Sunday? Any other memorable wet Monaco races?

Aside from the possibility for rain (it's been rainy this week), it's looking cold too (low 60's in the day). Either way, the armco could get a new coat of paint!
And what's really important- what -will- all the bathing beauties on the yachts around the pool do?

Why would anybody want a wet race at Monaco, it would be the worst possable thing...

Could not agree more. I prefer to see the best drivers in the world, tackle a very difficult circuit under ideal conditions.

well if youre a backmarker, its a blessing in disguise. its either start a race in the dry knowing you wont score points more than likely or start it in the wet and wait for attrition. especially in the first corner on the start. if i was in the back 2 rows id just fall back, grab some popcorn and watch the spectacle about to unfold at turn 1 in the wet. for drivers like alonso this could be his only chance this season to win a race. i can see more than a few drivers (rain or no rain) starting the race on ridiculously low fuel loads just to have that first corner in open air and set a pace early on.

Sorry, my comment was from a spectators point of view. Of course as a driver if you have a slower car you would pray for rain. I get no joy from watching cars crashing everwhere, driving slow slipsliding around the course. If it rains, so be it, but it makes a terrible situation at Monaco especially. I just can't understand why any F1 fan would wish for rain at Monaco, if you need half the field to crash out for you to win sort of cheapens the victory to me.

Rain in Monte Carlo is a waste of a good day (even if it's not F1 weekend). Rain at other tracks, gives us a chance to see another dimension of car control. Remember Donnington et al.
(as an aside, I don't see anyone in this thread wishing for rain). Observations/queries about the effect of rain yes, but no "gosh, I hope it pours for the GP of Monaco so we can see some torn up cars".)

i know it was rogeeeferrari, but the way the season is going so far we know that ferrari will more than likely win a majority of the races with hamilton picking up the scraps. throwing some rain into the toughest track of the year always makes for a good race in my eyes.
rain gives anyone a legitimate chance to win, and some good drivers get to show their worth, even at monaco when its wet. ive seen many a dodgy passes there that "shouldnt" have been possible in the rain. im still waiting for that BMW win and the forcie india team to get some points. rain could be just what both need here to achieve that.
