sete was plated and re-plated and re-plated...after the last surgery, the doctors advised him that he was risking permanent damage if he were to re-injure the collarbone. sete still had the skill, but it would have been extremely risky to try to race given his potential for serious long-term damage should he fall again.
ljb, it doesn't always have to be so confrontational. sometimes, just stating a reasonable, well stated counterpoint is sufficient.

...Gibernau had offers to race in 2007 MotoGP, but refused to 'just race for money' and decided instead to retire...
he did not retire because of injuries... he retired because he was done...

actually, a reasonable well stated counterpoint is hardly ever sufficient... this BBS has proven that time and time again...

Just got back and had a great weekend at the track.
Spent the weekend with Brad Smiths family and was lucky enough to watch MotoGP qually from the paddock !!
For Mr Rolfo, I had a quick word with the afro'd Simoncelli in there and he is a nice guy. You might want to try it.
JT was interviewed on Eurosport by Randy and he said that Dovi made a mistake and took him out, BUT THAT IS RACING. He was disappointed but thats it. No dripping, whining or crying, just accepted a racing incident. Some others might want to take a leaf out of his book.
Brad got an awesome second place after hitting a false neutral off the line. To come back from 17th at the end of lap one to get a career best second place was awesome.
Only fly in the ointment was the 90 Euro (about 140 bucks) fine by the French Police for speeding on the way back. I was lucky actually as I was done for doing 160kms/h(100mph) in a 100, but about 2 mins before I was doing 145....
Oops...
He has a different way of interpreting racing incident, unless they were racing backwards?

but running the video forward just la the race was, it's him almost taking out Dovizioso! Luckily he was the only one damaged in the incident.

Nice pics there, but JT did say that Dovi went out wide and swung back across the front of him.
Your pic also shows quite clearly who has the inside line.
As he said, a racing incident.

and Dovi said JT rammed him from behind...
the pics could go either way for me... i would like to see some live video, but, have not seen anything posted...
if i had to guess i would say that Dovi had to have known that he was thereabouts and did not have to turn down on him, but, hard to say from the pics if that was his line or if he did run a little wide and then came back in...

Yeah, it happens - I'd been hoping that motogpdotcom would post the video, just out of curiosity. They obviously filmed it because it was shown quickly at the end of the broadcast. Maybe it will be available later today.
One thing I have always found odd is that when a rider runs wide the riders behind seem startled when he brings the bike back to the inside. I guess they assume the rider intends to stay wide?
