Also found mentions of a DWI in '04

Yeah, that was the end of his 'serious' career I believe. Landed an Erion ride and promptly got a DUI.

I don't think he even competed in one event for Erion, just a pre-season test. Got the DWI before Daytona that year.

The article mentioned he missed the 1st race due to visa problems, and that he finished 16th or so @ Cali Speedway before the DWI

Sad to think of the possibility that, barring some serious intervention (jail time?), his life-span could be significantly shortened at this rate and direction. downer

Unbelievable. Why is he dragging us all down with him by trying to claim he is still a motorcycle racer? .

so you're a motorcycle racer now too, joe? i suppose if he can still call himself one why can't you, right? rolleyes

this kills. i looked forward to every race he was in. the guy was a gift to watch. now he's just pathetic. breaks my heart.

I believe Joe was referring to motorcyclists, although the 'look at me, I'm a racer!' bit is getting old fast.

Ya, then Erion fired him. Don't know if he ever went before a judge on that one, or just went back to Australia.

Don't know that Erion "FIRED" him. As I remember, it was an unpaid ride. The deal was to prove himself. Too bad he didn't have his brother Aaron's self control or Aaron didn't have Anthony's abilities.

But the upside to Gobert wasn't just his riding talent, he didn't mind telling Doohan, Foggy or who ever, to get stuffed, you're getting old, I'm better than you... No one else was doing that at the time.

Hey I'm taking "Addictions" class this summer for my Level 1 license. Check out ACE "Adverse Childhood Events" research sometime. I would also offer the same explanation for John Kocinski. Probably a few board members as well. I would say Go Show gets what he needs to feel good and that improved his riding. The bottom line is there is strong research evidence that synapses do not form in early childhood development as a result of ACE. These "emotion" based synapses have one window of opportunity to form or are lost forever. The latest Brain Imaging Tech of this very tiny part of the brain is also prevelant in Farrow Children.

No known way of correcting this physical deficiency. Also doesn't garauntee one will become an addict. Solution is available using MMIT [Millers Motivational Interview Technique] coupled with CBT [Cognitive Behavior Therapy]. If "go show" would like to come visit and anyone out there can extend an offer to him on my behalf... I'm fairly confident the real "go show" will shine through.

side note: A genetic link has NOT been established contrary to news reports. The study reported can not be duplicated and is therefore invalid until it can be reproduced. Just a heads up and ACE is totally different issue [non-genetic instead developmental as a result of "neglect & abuse"]

Now thats funny!
What really makes me laugh are the guys that take these boards so seriously that they use the ignore button.
