No doubt Castroneves will make it into the field. The thing that concerns me is Briscoe possibly wrecking his car in qualifying. Cross fingers they both make it in. Tracy & Walker winning Indy together would be one of the greatest headlines if it were to happen.
Maybe #77 is prepped and ready to go Pole Day in case Helio or Briscoe put one into the wall. I imagine Penske still has two backups in addition to the #77.
Good grief, talk about having to wait on pins and needles. So was the #77 just one of his backup cars? I would have assumed El Capitan had 2 oval primary cars and 2 oval backups, and then 1 additional oval spare which was the #77. But I guess not? Like I said before, following up on Robin Miller, such a loan would be quite the gesture from Roger.

Yes, it would be, although it can also be said that having a stronger IndyCar series also works to Roger's benefit, business-wise, and as he has the resources to make the gesture, it's really more of a win-win.

Even if this does happen, like I wrote the other day, Walker are still going to need some kind of engineering assistance from Team Penske to get the car in the race. Walker's underrated staff and PT's experience can only get so far in a couple of days.

Well Grizz....if you have ever closely follow the 500, you will know that Penske in the past has leased cars to other teams. They will help with that team (i am sure it is written in the contract too) with getting the car up to speed, but come race day, the team leasing the car has to come up with their own crew. I am sure this would be done the day after bump day.
Walker isnt a 3rd rate team. Walker knows his way around the track. Lets see.....who was the car owner for Scott Goodyear when he drove the car from 33rd to 2nd in 1992.....oh yeah...Derrik Walker.
I just heard from a reliable source....i have a friend of a friend of a sister who is dating a guy who works at the hot dog stand, that they are going to run out of Indy Dogs before the half way mark in T3. So if you are sitting in T3...be sure to walk around to be sure you get your Indy Dog.
Just heard from a reliable source (don't bother asking for my source)... PT has given up on Indy, and likely the whole year. Deal with Walker for #77 Penske car was an option but Forsythe contract issue is still unresolved so PT has decided to go boating this weekend and may sit the entire season out.

Other sources are saying the #77 deal may still be on.....IF they can get the hot dog shortage taken care of.
Not sure what the connection is, but it may have something to do with a food sponsor coming up with an extra $200,000 but TG has to buy more dogs for the race.
If this deal happens, my guess is that it would be a second weekend effort. Not sure if I would want PT jumping in with just a handful of laps in a strange car. However, what a potent force on raceday this combo could be even if PT has to come from mid-field or the rear.

Keep in mind that in 2002 PT (and Dario) did not qualify the first day, either. That did not seem to hold him back.
