Didn't get to see the second race. Thanks speed. The first was a cracker. Congrats to Beck for finishing in his first race. As Mamola said "He was thrown in at the deep end." Too bad Rolfo broke his clavicle. He and Beck could have had a good battle.
So what if he was at the tail end of the field. It was his first superbike race. At least he was racing. All you and I were doing was sittin' on our asses watching it.
Sorry Gary. Didn't mean to sound snippy. I'm delighted to see he made it through both races without an embarassing moment(like dumping it in front of a camera). First outing, greatjob.

Ditto. Even if he finished last, he finished. And earned a point even!
Agreed, I was just stating fact. Good for him. I think its amazing that a relative unknown got a shot in a WSB round. No one here amazingly enough had ever heard of him. You guys are slipping. Best he has ever done was an 11th in an AMA600SS race, WTF?? Wonder what behind the scenes strings got pulled? He doesn't even ride for Ulrich, lol!

What's really sad is that Zemke's people COULDN'T get it done. WMG is a pretty big company, he should have been there riding. He could have had a pretty decent finish.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the reason he didn't do it is because he couldn't make it to Italy in time after his test at Miller. He didn't want to skip his test and endanger his prospects in the AMA championship.

Wow... great stuff. I'm really, really ashamed to say I missed the first few laps of both races. It was a super hectic reason, and for some reason I am still attempting to follow F1. I think I was brainwashed at some point, cause it is rapidly becoming the most boring sport since baseball.
But yeah, two great battles. The only small issue was that it was guys like Noikerchner(will never spell that right) and Kiyo involved. I mean, good for them. They deserve to fight for a win like everyone else... but it just seems that much more interesting when the Corser's, Biaggi's, Xaus', Checca's, Laconi's are more involved.
Talk about bias... the cover of Motosprint has a huge picture of Noikerchner with the headline, "THE WRONG MAX".
They are actually giving him lots of praise though, as they say he is riding Biaggi's old 2007 bikes!!!
Speaking of the other Max, what the hell was Smurz (at leat that is who the announcers said it was) doing there? He could have seriously hurt someone.
And I meant no disrespect for M Beck... just wondering how an unknown American ends up riding in WSBK for Yamaha France? No need to remind me that I was not racing that weekend (Ned Kelly, Anderson)... and extra cool of you to imply that whatever I was infact doing, was not nearly as important.
