Oh, and I just checked out the practice times. Who the f--ck is this M. Beck character subbing for Davide Checca? He is listed as USA, but I never heard of him. Anyone? Endurance guy maybe?

Michael Beck is the kid racing at Monza in World Superbike this weekend while you are lying bed pining for Robbie Rolfo. You can slag Beck if you want, but he is a racer and you are a spectator.

Check him out. The Google is your friend.

I don't think he was belittling Beck - he was asking who he was. I didn't know the name either, no disrespect to the guy, and RR is in Italy so he may never have seen the name at all.

Looks like Bayliss is poised to ruin it for everyone else on the track - another SuperPole. Rock On TB. grin

^ re: Lavilla being bumped up two positons, K. Sofuglu had to withdraw from Monza due to the tragic death of his brother, as far as Nakatomi, he suffered a bad high side during the final free practice session, so perhaps he was not fit enough to participate in Superpole?

Watched Superpole and Bayliss simply blew them all into the weeds. I don't think he'll have the same domination in the races though and can see Max N breaking his duck (instead of his collarbone)
Kiyo is starting to show some pace now too.

As for my good self, I shall be at Brands for the BSB, and my new squeezes best friend is a physio with the BSB paddock and we are having some inner paddock passes, so all in all it should be a great day out with temps in the high 70s in US money.

As for Rolfo's rants, I actually like the real lad, having met him and I find it ironic that while the biffer that posts on here is so anti British, the real one is a respectful lad, who used to wear a Joey Dunlop rep helmet at the British MotoGP.

At least HE has class.

Monza superpole highlights

Bayliss certainly looks on it & the Suzukis look strong, but really hoping the Ten kate Hondas' can get a decent start for once & stay close enough in the opening laps to use the slipstream...of course, can never rule Nori out!

Geez - Bellwhiff is having all the fun..go for it, dude-ster.

Gang! Why wasn't there a little more ranting and raving about Monza Race 1? Great stuff! Max the German just showed the world that he has The Right Stuff. Nori was up his ass for lap after lap, even doing some time in front of him. Fantastic and deserved result for Suzuki and Max. The SPEED of his bike - mama mia. Guest commentator Randy Mamola (who I really liked, even if he got tongue-tied a few times with his analogies) suggested that Max the German is still riding a "B" bike in the Alstare garage? Is this really true? They better figure who the priority is if that is the case. My Tragi-Hero-Comic Nori just looked like his bike was on rails, but it was not enough.

Let me go on record once again with SPEED for their programming priorities when its comes to World Superbikes..."F____ You". We will all obviously DVR Race 2 on Tuesday and watch it, but I don't even attempt to keep myself in the dark about these things. Is it worse this season than ever before or what? Heaven forbid if SPEED actually promoted this series as the ball-burner it is truly turning out to be. I know my fellow cynical girls: about 10 of us would go "woo-hoo" at this development - I'm sure that's part of our problem.

Anyway, Race 2 was apparently even more of a barn-burner than the first and its events/results suggests that in the next couple of years there may be another Rising Son that can finally bring the WSBK championship to a small, densely populated island in the pacific. Hey..didn't Star Wars have a similar story line? (Hint: his number one fan on this board may well be that limey with the Brands Hatch pit passes).

Attention for this update: for some strange reason, Dave Despain just played a hi-lite from the Race 2 finish on Wind Tunnel, then went back to talking to Carl Edwards about...Oh, I can't even say the N word. I don't have the stomach.

I'm very sad to report that Roby Rolfo will not be racing at Monza this week. He crashed his mountain bike and broke a clavicle(spelling?).

Needless to say this is horrible news for me. I'll probably spend sunday in bed, under the covers, sobbing like the cheerleader who just got dumped by the captain of the football team.

And, really, this is bad news for all of you as well. Monza is by far Roby's best track, and he always puts on a show there. Oh well.

I'm confused .... You used to date the captain of the football team?????? Sorry for your loss, but don't cry, maybe you can score a running back or wide receiver next!!!! cool smirk

Higlights of BOTH races are available on YouTube....the last lap of race 2 is amazing. I can't wait for Utah....I think it is going to be absolutely awesome. Next year should be even better with BMW and Aprilia entering teams.
