I don’t think NASCAR cares one way or the other about what teams run the series. If anything they have evened out the playing field with the design of the cot and the strict rules that don’t allow teams to “tweak” the body on those cars for aerodynamic advantage. With that being said, it still costs a lot of money to get a car competitive in NASCAR, so the smaller teams with less financial resources are at a disadvantage. The limits on testing also limit owners with 1 or 2 cars as opposed to owners of 3, 4, & 5 teams. Of course the testing limits only apply to tracks that NASCAR run on so there are no limits to testing at non Sprint Cup tracks. It is called “free enterprise;” here are the rules, if you can’t afford to play, go home.
