With the likely return of slick tires in 2009, Bridgestone has been considering how to mark the tires.

"It is clear that, for the benefit of the fans and the professionals, the compounds next year will be distinguished," she promised.
One option is the Champ Car-style red coloured side walls, and Ingham also confirmed that colouring the entire tyre is also "technically feasible."

But what if the color of the tires doesn't go well with the livery?

Buy some more paint pens and just move the stripe to the sidewall. No more work than before.

I would like to see some cool colors like maybe a red tire and a black tire. Make the option tire red and the prime tire black.

I know these are just painted sidewalls, but it gives us an idea of what the different colors would look like all in one photo.

I think the idea is great
Maybe they can get new sponsors on board. Like Fisher Price...

as a long time f1 fan, I have to say I really don't care what kind of tire they're on since it's a single supplier. the only time I'm interested is if there's a tire war. then it's worth paying attention to. otherwise, what does it matter?

Bridgestone should make three compounds available for every race and let the teams decide what they want to use for tires, any combination or a single compound, instead of this foolishness of using both compounds during the race. The FIA needs to start getting rid of stupid rules, there are plenty of important things to regulate. The tire compound a manufacturer or driver chooses to run during the race shouldn't be regulated.
While I'm at it, since they have reduced the length of Q3, why not get rid of the stupid fueling rules all together and let them qualify on low fuel to give us fans an opportunity to see what thay can do , flat out, and let them choose their fuel strategy AFTER qualifying. This would solve the problem of drivers crawling back to the pits as well.

Maggots all over the world are gagging after viewing that picture....I want to watch race cars racing....not clown cars. The rules requing the teams to use both specification of tire the Bridgestone bring is ludicruous with the cars today, let alone into the future. Let the teams deal with what ever tires Bridgestone brings to the track and that they can make work. I'd be just as happy if Bridgestone only brought a single specification of tire....In fact I would be happier, if we have a single supplier why have multiple specifications of tires. Save Bridgestone some money Max!
