After being DQ’d, he wants the pitlane light system changed.

I don’t like how the article says Barrichello ran over some of his team when leaving his pits.

The lollipop man lifted the sign before refueling was complete.
It is the drivers responsibilty to go immediately after the sign is lifted.
Not Barrichello’s fault. I don’t like how he is getting the blame for that.

Isn’t it part of the team’s job to radio to the driver if pits are open or closed?

I’m not a fan of the new pit rules but it was in effect for all of last year as well, so there shouldn’t be any excuses.

But yea, a bigger light wouldn’t hurt.

Perhaps Ruben would prefer some sort or railroad crossing style drop down gate. That would be hard to miss! Then again maybe Ruben, who is getting on in age, should have his eyes checked. He might just need a pair of specs, even bifocals, to help him see!

If you watched the same race as me you would have seen that the redlight was about 4 feet above his head!!  It also looked like the sun was shining into the light, and if the light was LED (which it looked like) then it would be even harder to see if you’re not on the same level.  I don’t think it would be a big deal to have a flagman at the end of pit lane.  I think another factor could be the fact that I’m sure some of his crew were on the radio talking about the pit man that was run over.  I’m sure that distracted him!
