as DirecTV has started hosting Speed HD, i am disappointed that Dish has not done so. I have made two phone calls asking them to do so. I was hoping to make more of an impact, so i'm requesting that everyone who has Dish please take 5 mins and call and let your voice be heard. maybe if enough people call they will get it.
phone number is 1800-284-7116 and press 1 for billing and let them know you want Speed HD.
or follow the link:

and email them.
Thanks!!

I've got Dish Network. Have had it for years and have been able to watch the gradual decline and fall of Speedvision/Speed TV for years now. You just gotta pay extra for the privilege of watching entropy in action.

You press ocho.
I called Dish up and told them to take their time adding SpeedHD and that I won't leave them no matter what because they Rawk!!
Seriously. Dish is moving HD channels around and they even put a few HD local markets on spotbeams yesterday (this frees up transponder space for more national HD channels such as Speed). They they are making progress on getting new HD channels out there. But It won't likely be until May before they are turned on.

I submitted a request for Speed in HD and asked for any additional information they could provide on their plans to add it to their line up. This is the response I got:
Thank you for your e-mail. Specific information regarding your request for SPEED HD is not currently available. We would like to add that channel, to make viewers like you happy, but we do not know if or when this will happen. We will gladly forward your request to our Programming Department for further consideration.
We thank you for your input as we continually review our options in order to provide a compelling lineup for our viewers. Please stay tuned for consumer Charlie Chats that are broadcast monthly on Channel 101 or logon to our website for future programming announcements.
Your business is greatly appreciated and we thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please refer to http://www.dishnetwork.com or reply to this email.
Sincerely,
DISH Network eCare

If you are a Dish Subscriber please request SpeedHD too. I want SpeedHD and if I wasn't already locked in to Dish because of the 18 month commitment I would be switching to DirectTV

News Corp owns SpeedTV and DirecTV. There has been a big push by DirecTV to use their HD lineup to sign up new customers. DishTv is their competitor. I doubt if they have any plans of giving their HD feeds to their competitor.

Actually, they have sold off their piece of DirectTV.
And they are providing HD to other providers besides Direct, it's just a matter of time and enough requests for the providers to come aboard.

I feel bad for those of you who don't get SpeedHD. You are missing out in a major way. Autoracing and HD were made for eachother.

Dish just lost SkyAngel (might not be the right name, it was tier of religious channels) on 61.5, the HD sat. They have been moving channels around to free up space and move to MPEG4. They have 3800 channels to play with so it is going to take a while. This month will be a very active month for Dish.
That said, Charlie said during the last Chat that SPEED HD was not a priority this year. Might happen, but most likely won't. Reasoning is there is not enough true HD content on SPEED HD. Remember this is one of two providers that carries Voom, all HD all the time. Dish is currently focused on HD Locals.

Using the excuse that there is not enough true HD contect on Speed to justify it's carriage is just total BS. There is mor HD content than there is SD.
DirecTV is just a superior provider and anyone who can should switch.
