First: SPEED is not a motorsports channel, it is a car channel that occasionally shows motorsports.

Second: Reality shows made in-house are cheaper to produce and air than to buy the broadcast rights to some racing series. Do you realize how cheap it is to make a reality show? You only need 5 or 6 full time employees to produce one. Pinks offers a greater return on investment than DTM, and V8 supercar.

Ding ding ding ..... we have a winner. I understand Speed's philosophy, it's all about $$$$$. What I don't understand is the people that watch the shows often mentioned as being crap.

In comparison to what is available to the modern western world in regards to F1 coverage SPEED is dropping the ball. Bernie is not helping matters but he has a product to sell and that is what he is paid to do.

Why F1 isn't bigger in the US is a total lack of coverage in the US. No marketing of the drivers; yet the products sponsors all have huge ties to the US retail market. Shell puts Harvick in a tv ad but not Ferrari? Quaker State and Ferrari? Yeah. Intel AMD DHL BMW MERCEDES have you seen a ad tie in on US tv ? NO. Would you expect to find it on SPEED channel yes. Do you ?NO.
Instead you get a bunch of old fat guy reality show commercials in between the F1 race and one P2 and Qualifying.

Why am I paying $ 20 extra per month to watch F1 on SPEED ,what littler there is of it, is convience. I can download PREMIER coverage which has multi in car and around 10 to 15 more cameras than SPEED + coverage of P1 2 and 3 and Qual and race and post race.

SPEED gives me "LIVE" coverage ? Not so. Last weeks China GP was at least 1/2 over by the time the green light came on SPEED. I can log in to the F1 website and watch live timing and see it before Hobbs wakes up to notice whats on the monitor.Steve Matchett is the only bright spot in SPEED's F1 coverage but they have him stuck in a booth watching TV trying to do a commentary off of it. Then they sent Bob Varsha off to do 3 days of coverage on a car auction? Then Peter on the grid trying to get anyone to talk to him is just hilarious. He is like a beggar taking whatever he can get which apparently isn't much.

And who is sick of NASCAR? How many times does a person need to know what push and loose mean? How many ways can you disect the sport? This is lug a nut it goes on the wheel. We know already!

I think SPEED should join the FOX reality network and leave the sports to someone else.

We need to save SPEED! No more NASCRAP, monster trucks, and more talented racing! Even The TDI cup was nice to see, finally some road racing again. Please SPEED, grow up. Lets put some grown up racing on TV again and get rid of the junk.

They used to cover the Aussy Super car series a few years ago... I too would like to see some of these races along with the local racing form our weekend regulars.. the Modifieds for one and they have a Midwestern Modified series which I understand is doing quite well... but you hardly ever hear about it... this is good racing...

i've spent some time in austraila and one of the funniest things is how great the FOX owned sport channels are. any sport you want is there and always on. even the air races. the coverage of the V8 supercars is better than Nascrap. If i have to watch any more of those damned reality racing shows, i'm going to cancel my cable. i'll agree thank god for Tivo so i can record the good shows and skip Pinks and Unique trash.
