As someone who works for H-D, I know that this is nothing new for Harley in any given year. I’m not sure what this might have to do with speed though.

What does have to do with speed and Harley-Davidson is the “All Harley Drags”.
There are several associations such as the AHDRA and the AMRA that put on Harley drag racing events all over the nation and I have never seen a single one of them on SpeedTV.
There are many great competitors such as Doug Vancil, Mike Romine, Bill Furr, Junior Pippin, Mike Nolen and many more pouring their hearts and souls and hundreds of thousands of dollars into this sport without the support of any television coverage.
Any kind of racer finds it almost impossible to meet the financial requirements of a prolonged career in racing without the support of sponsorship, and no sponsor wants to invest their money in putting their name on a dragbike that the public will not get to see.

Come on SpeedTV, lets see some of those ear splitting Harley Top Fuelers!

I don’t know why you would assume that. Harley-Davidson does not sponsor a single team at the All Harley Drags, they do not have a team in the All Harley Drags and they do not contribute one single penny to anything or anyone in the All Harley Drags.

All those racers are racing on their own dime, with a little sponsorship help from companies like S&S;, Andrews, Crane and others but most of them contribute very little money, often just free parts and racing components (and very little of that). Without TV coverage, All Harley Drag Racers will never see the big sponsorships like Budweiser, Pepsi, McDonalds or even Harley-Davidson. None of these companies want to give sponsorship money to show their name on a racer that is not going to be seen, it’s not considered “money well spent”.

I think I saw All Harley Drags on ESPN a few years ago. I haven’t seen or heard anything since. I think those bikes are a great contibutor to Harley enthusiasm and racing alike, I would like to see more of those dragsters. Can you imagine riding a bike with over a thousand HP? WOW!

In NHRA they race the Pro Stock Motorcycle division and the Harleys are the standard over the Suzukis and Kaws. I like seeing them on ESPN2.
