The friggin' Super Bowl had a four hour pre-game show. The dang pre-game show was longer than the game!

I thought the pre-race show started with the 24 Hours of Daytona race ... LOL wink

I like the later start times ... I missed Nationwide Happy Hour yesterday ... because I didn't want to get up at 6:30am to watch it ... gulp LOL

If they started earlier, it just gives more time before too late at night should there be a rain delay. I live on the West Coast and wouldn't mind a 8 AM start if that's what they need to do to make sure they can finish on Sunday rather than shorten due to curfew or race on Monday. The later the start, the greater the chance of postponement or reduced distance.

Well even though Daytona might start a bit late, I'm glad most of the other races are being moved to an earlier start time. Gets annoying when the races stretch from day to night.

Does Daytona have a noise curfew? If not then the 500 could go all night if necessary, thanks to Musco.

Considering the 2005 Pepsi 400 didn't end til almost 2am eastern time ... because of multiple rain delays ... I don't remember seeing the cops shut the track down prior to Smoke climbing the fence to the flagstand to celebrate his win ... LOL

Plus, the Daytona International Airport is right next door to the track ... Noise, what noise?? LOL wink

I just looked on the Daytona 500 web page and listed driver intros at 2:30 and race at 3:30.Lets just go back to the noon starting time and forget about racing day into night. excaim
yeah and while were at it lets get rid of the 1 or 2 hour intros and go back to 30 minute previews

I live on the West Coast and work graveyard shift I was worried that I would sleep through the race, however due to the late start, it looks like I will be able to catch some zzzzzzzzz's watch the race sleep some more and go to work unless Nascar and the weather really muck things up regardless I am just hoping for a great action packed race!
