What's wrong with letting them race in somewhat constant conditions instead of day into night.

For some reason, NASCAR still isn't listening to the fans and the 500 isn't scheduled to start until around 3:30pm est on Sunday. This means that not only will drivers be driving into a blinding setting sun a large part of the race, but also, weather reports indicate that rain is coming Sunday evening. So by starting the race so late they may not get to the end before the rain. If they started by 2pm they probably could get it in before the rain.
Now NASCAR is getting blamed for the weather... I think we've heard it all...

I just looked on the Daytona 500 web page and listed driver intros at 2:30 and race at 3:30.Lets just go back to the noon starting time and forget about racing day into night.
Yeah, and cut the grandstand back to 25,000 and the purse back to $50,000.

Dont stop there, Just go back to racing on the beach with fans in lawn chairs and kids playing in the tidal pools...
