Late Start Time Could Really Ruin The Daytona 500

For some reason, NASCAR still isn't listening to the fans and the 500 isn't scheduled to start until around 3:30pm est on Sunday. This means that not only will drivers be driving into a blinding setting sun a large part of the race, but also, weather reports indicate that rain is coming Sunday evening. So by starting the race so late they may not get to the end before the rain. If they started by 2pm they probably could get it in before the rain.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

What's wrong with letting them race in somewhat constant conditions instead of day into night. rolleyes

Yeah, and cut the grandstand back to 25,000 and the purse back to $50,000.
