Why, when covering a NASCAR race, must you have the engine sounds so friggin loud??? I cannot even hear the announcers over this engine noise. A little bit of that goes a LOOOOOOONG way. Now, when you do the "in-car" shots, thats fine, but NOT throughout the WHOLE RACE!!!!
Please address this for the ones that find it VERT annoying... PLEASE!!!

Loud is great! At my local race track (Yakima Speedway), the stands actually vibrate when the late models go by. I love it.

Just out of curiousity Racerman, are you hearing the races in monaural, stereophonic, or surround sound?

Its just as annoying as when radio stations play music in the background while you're trying to listen to the traffic reports, etc...

when background noise drowns out the foreground, theres a problem with the sound level mix.

It was a shame when they were trying to conduct an interview with someone coming out of the infield care center and you couldn't hear a word.

I realize that the sound adds "atmosphere", but it takes away from the reporting. Turn it up all you want when no one is talking; but if the network is paying the talent to talk to us, and we want to hear them, turn the background noise DOWN.

Wow!!! I couldn't disagree more.

As an F1 fan on SpeedTV I wish they would fire all the "talkers" and turn the engine volume up to 11.

Who needs to hear yapping when you can hear race engines screaming?

I wish they didn't have any announcers. You don't need them, they have the ticker at the top with the running order, so you don't need the guys in the booth. Heck thats why I love going to my local track so much, I can sit right under the speaker, but as soon as those cars start going around you can't hear anything but Motors,Tires, and Sheet metal crunching... and that is the way it should be.
