Is it just me or does anybody else find Jimmy Spencer irritating? It just seems to me that he tries to dominate the discussions, yet once the other guys give him their attention he has a hard time getting his message across. I get tense just waiting and trying to figure out what his point is...if he makes one.
WOW, how can you not love Jimmy......it is great...I get the biggest kick out of him!! He may not be the most educated individual....but, he does say how it is!!

He may not be educated, but he knows more about the sport of NASCAR than those college schooled pretty boys preferred by most of the Jimmy-haters.
I don't watch the show, i figure that 2hrs on Speed plus another hour of pre race stuff is over satrurated. Don't like them, don't watch whatever those shows are called, hell there are so many NASCAR shows now i don't even know all of them. The Speed Report is better though, tune into that if you want professionalism.
Spencer may not be all that educated but he was one of the best racers to ever climb behind the wheel...unlike most of the so called racers in the so called "top 3" of NASCAR, Spencer earned his place in his many cup rides.

I think you must have meant to say that Spencer was one of the WORST drivers ever. But that's beside the real point, which is that he and Kenny Wallace are crude and obnoxious TV "personalities". The most positive thing you can say about Spencer is that he is not nearly as objectionable as Wallace. They are both witless buffoons, but to my knowledge Spencer has never tried to use his SpeedTV gig as a platform to promote himself as a driver. Who can ever forget Wallace begging viewers on-air to vote for him in the runup to last year's All-Star race at Charlotte? Spencer is at least semi-amusing (at any rate, his hair weave is). Wallace, on the other hand, makes my skin crawl. Why is he on TV?

Yes, he was a great driver...I know most of the NASCAR fans (ie, so called race fans) think that racing stops once you hit the truck series...but real racing takes place with real racers ever week at your local short track...Jimmy Spencer was one of the best asphalt modified/NASCAR modified racers to ever get behind the wheel. His duels with Richie Evans were legendary...and for you that do not know, there isnt a driver in NASCRAPS "big 3" that could even come close to Evans!
Dang, I would be willing to bet that 99% of the drivers on the current roster of the "big 3" series would not have survived back then...(late 1970's early 1980's)...they would have ran back home to their moms crying! Notice I left 1%...Stewart, Schrader, Reuterman (spelling?), Blaney and maybe a couple more that I can not think of could handle it...pretty boys like Earnhardt, Jr...Johnson, Gordon and such...well, they would never have made it out of the last chance race...that is if they werent to busy crying to drive.
If you find the guy irritating don't watch, simple problem, simple solution. What's the big deal about a cigar at a race track. Was it Trickle who smoked during the cautions? At least he didnt wear a shirt with "Bring Back Bobby" on it!!! That will get you ejected. (hinted with sarcasm).
I don't want to turn off the show. I might see something and/or learn something interesting. Not likely with Kenny and Jimmy acting like clowns, but you never know....there is such a thing as professionalism. Not to them though.
I agree with the original poster, he almost sounds like when he's talking that someone is talking in his ear and he forgets what he's talking about. He almost never finishes in the same subject he started and even if he does he makes little sense. He might be a good guy to have a beer with, but I think he is a weak link for "Race Day" and "Victory Lane".
