Not trade news but inherently awesome: Bergy's back on the ice! No return date yet, but all things considered it's still great! http://bruins.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=354706

As an Avs fan I was hoping he would sign with them so he can finish his career there. I hope he can stay healthy.

Canucks traded Matt Cooke to the Capitals for Matt Pettinger. They're pretty much the same sort of player so it's a lateral move. And honestly I wasn't expecting the Canucks to do much if they couldn't get Brad Richards and I didn't want them to jump into the frenzy and trade prospects or anything like some teams.

Just as long as they make moves during the summer.

and lol, the Penguins steal Marian Hossa right at the end. Although giving up Christensen, Armstrong and a first round pick might be a bit too much, and it might force the Penguins to stick Hossa, Crosby and Malkin on the same line which I don't think would be a good idea considering how well Malkin's played in his natural center position.

Only minor moves for the Buds. Wade Belak and Chad Kilger to Florida in seperate trades for a 5th rd pick and a 3rd rd pick. Hal Gill went to Pittsburgh for a 2nd rd pick this year and a 5th rd pick next year.

Bill Watters on Sportsnet said the Leafs could have gotten 2 front line players and 2 1st rd draft picks if Mats Sundin would have lifted his no trade clause. And Cliff Fletcher said one player (Pavel Kubina?) had agreed to waive his no-trade clause before the game against Ottawa and then changed his mind after the game.

The Habs traded their #1 starting goalie Cristobal Huet to the Capitals for a 2009 2nd round draft pick? I'm a little puzzled here. I know it has been said that Huet likely would've left the team anyway, but it seems like that is too much pressure to put on a young goalie like Carey Price. I can only hope it works out for the Canadiens. oh oh

As for Anaheim and Phoenix, I really have nothing to complain about. The Ducks just added some depth to the team and they still keep the Edmonton draft picks. The important thing is that the team remains intact.

I'm happy with the 'Yotes as well. Who knows? Maybe the Coyote Hossa will prove to be the better Hossa pick. wink
