Guys, Indyfan2 has asked me to do part 2 of Round 9 and will be out at the end of the week. Sorry for the delay.

Part 2: ITTAWSC2-Round 9 at the Daytona International Speedway.

Halfway through the Daytona superbike race, the leaders are still in a tight draft pack of eight bikes and more riders are having trouble with mechanical issues. LittleAlGuy was forced to pit with a clutch problem and couldn’t continue the rest of the race as Breaker is leaving the pack behind by two seconds. Speeddemon787 is battling with Formulaefan, Armco and Indyfan2 with their side by side racing. Breaker riding by lap riders who moved aside for him as the rest of the leaders are struggling to catch him going through lap traffic. Uh Oh, on lap 44, McLola lost an engine going through the esses off turn one and five riders lost control of their bikes. Bolts and Headsfirst4Halos crashed on the oil slick and three more piled into the wrecked bikes and three riders of Doberman, Talon64 and ChrisR fell into the pavement and were down in pain. The corner marshals were waving yellows and oil flags frantically as the remaining riders slowed down and prompted ITTAWSC officials from the control tower to red flag the race. All the riders were signaling their hands up to slow down and entered the pits as the paramedics and track crews were attending to the riders and cleaning up the oil slick made by McLola.

The Riders were concerned about their down riders including Doberman who was knocked out cold landing on the pavement hard and ChrisR may have suffered a broken leg as the paramedics loading the two into the ambulance to go to a nearby hospital. Talon64 was not happy that McLola didn’t get off the track enough when her engine blew leaving oil on the groove. The clean up took about a half and hour to finish, the wrecked bikes were put on the flatbed truck as ITTAWSC officials has ordered the riders and crew to get ready to race. The riders went out for a warm-up lap to heat the tires and the standing re-start was about to begin as they lined up in order from the previous laps. The official turned on the reds and then green. The riders blasting their bikes into turn one out of pit lane as Speeddemon787 got a great start ahead of Breaker going into the bend heading into turn five. Breaker took the lead from Speeddemon787 and Indyfan2 passing also for second place. Speeddemon787 had to fend off Formulaefan going into nascar turn two as the draft has become a more even factor for the leaders. Indyfan2 tucked up on Breaker’s rear pipes going into the bus stop chicane and left him behind going into Nascar three and four as Speeddemon787 tried to pass Indyfan2 but the teammates of Indyfan2 and Formulaefan blew passed Speeddemon787 down the dog leg into turn one and catching Breaker.

Uh oh, lap 55 Armco and Lochtaer crashed at the bus stop chicane as they picked up their bikes desperately trying to get the bikes up and running but unfortunately for the polesitter his race was done. Armco kicked the bike in frustration and pushed aside the track worker trying to help. Lochtaer went around the track for one more lap before going into the garage out of the race because of damage to the bike. The leaders began to pit for the last time as Breaker and Speeddemon787 pitted together for fuel and tires as Indyfan2 and Formulaefan were still out there on the track. Both Breaker and Speeddemon787 went out as Indyfan2 and Formulaefan, MMI16, and twelve other riders pitted for fuel and tires for the last time with eighteen laps to go. Uh oh, another crash and its Zippylady who went in the pits too fast sliding into pit wall destroying her bike. She got up ok but the ITTAWSC official wasn’t too pleased with her wild ride on pit road and got admonished at the trailer. Ten laps to go and Breaker and Speeddemon787 were fighting for the lead as Indyfan2 and Formulaefan drafted together with Pickle.

Five laps to go, Breaker still have the lead but Speeddemon787 was making a move off nascar turn four and Formulaefan followed him leaving her teammate Indyfan2 stuck behind Breaker as the side by side racing began to heat up. Two laps to go and Speeddemon787 takes the lead going down to turn one drafting pass Breaker while Formulaefan took second and Indyfan2 third but Breaker didn’t give up as the last lap began to develop as the top leaders began trading leads and Wotan was in the mix as the bikes were three wide for the lead heading to the finish line. Formulaefan, Speeddemon787 and Indyfan2 screaming down to the finish line as the checker flag was waving including Breaker who went four wide. ITTAWSC officials couldn’t determine the winner since four bikes finished at the same time. ITTAWSC officials look at the photo finish for fifteen minutes and declared Indyfan2 the winner of Round 9 followed by Breaker, Speeddemon787 and Formulaefan. Indyfan2 and Formulaefan were jumping up and down in celebration. It was the most intense race of the ITTAWSC series racing but at the end Indyfan2 came out on top. Round 10 is coming up. Good news for all the riders regarding the injured riders, Doberman is awake and alert. She will be out of the hospital but ChrisR will not be racing for the next remaining rounds because of a broken leg and Talon64 was uninjured.

ITTAWSC2 Championship Standings As It Stands after Round 9 @ Daytona!


Lets Review The Champ Chase Table:
With delight victory, Indyfan2 propelled to 2nd place from 3rd putting his teammate Formulaefan down to third. Meanwhile Breaker maintains the Championship lead since Round 8. The championship is tight between these 4 while the others are battling for 5th in the Championship. The winless Ksaulie made a charge forward after taking 7th. Lochtaer meanwhile had a bad slide on the grass as he scores Zero points along with LittleAlguy also failed to finish because of engine troubles. DigIt isn't doing much scoring just 5pts. Penske_ALMS as a rookie of ITTAWSC2 is picking up some learning points. Bolts meanwhile has a misery of his season after failing yet again to score more points.

It appears Penske_ALMS maybe the one and only contender for ITTAWSC2 Rookie of the Year. McLola may not be able to challenge him after only competing 4 rounds including the most previous race.

Round 9 will be the Formula 1 races dating to 1992-1994 cars and will be there at Surfers Paradise Australia. The ITTAWSC2 has it labled "The Fosters GP of Australia". 65 Lap Race around this street course.
