I really don't see that thing every being racy and I don't see NASCAR being grown-up enough about it to admit their mistake by allowing the required changes..[/quote:d6cf1b994a]

Agreed Brian doesn't have the stones to admit the mistakes and allow the teams the latitude to fix the imbalance.[/quote:d6cf1b994a]
With how many changes have been made to the car(We are talking about more then a new hood) And the new rules that go along with this car, it will be a while before the teams have the handle on this car that the had on the previous one.
The racing will get back to where it once was, they just need to work with the car and learn from the car.
I will be honest, the one thing I would have done differently is: At least 1 COT race at each type of track, and also race the COT at any tracks that only host 1 race.

The reason I have heard for the CoT's nose design with the splitter and all was to eliminate the coil binding set up because it is thought that bottoming out the nose is a rather dangerous practice. Fair enough, except for the fact that at 4" clearance and the shape of the splitter, the CoT has a sharp hit to the pavement whenever there is a slight bump or under braking among other occasions, which is probably just as unsafe. Not much of a gain there.

I thought the CoT used "bump stops" to eliminate the need for coil binding.

The first time around was great ... kind of like "Happy Days", but if you go to the well too many times you cough up a "Joanie Loves Chachi".

May have one of the most "boring" Daytona 500's, if 'Dega showed anything.
