The show isn't
that bad. Has room for improvement, and hope it improves to the high standards of my fellow posters on this board. Beats most of the rest of Speed's current prime time line up. I'd rather see Bodden try to fit into a Fiat 500 or rant against a 2CV than watch some mooks butcher some rap stars Lamborghini or a couple bozos argue about how much of a head start they need.

Read this other thread for an idea of how they can (need) to improve, like by knowing what the heck they're talking about.

My wife can't stand car shows because most the guys aren't that entertaining. I forgive them, since they are car guys, and have a lot to share and I learn something just about every time.
Watching this show makes me see things from her shoes. He isn't knowledgeable, and isn't funny. I would rather watch Carrot Top talk about cars. At least he’d might good at one of them.

They should have held this show until Jay Leno became available--he'd be the perfect host--funny and a REAL car guy.
He will be guesting next week (this week)?
They probably couldn't afford him though.

“Crap programs” are anything that I don’t like.
“Because I don’t watch it” means that nobody watches it either.

The host is awful. No personality, not even funny for a supposed comedian. He wasn't even funny on that comic show he used to do.
Poor choice of host.
Great cars profiled though.
Not to mention the guy is about 6'5" and doesn't fit at all in any of the old European cars. It looks like 20lb's of potatoes in a 10lb bag...lol

Actually, I like "101 Cars You Must Drive." I was probably expecting wall-to-wall comedy, but Alonso Bodden is pretty funny. There are even some nice car facts that I didn't know. For example, I didn't know that the spolier on the Superbird was raised up so high just to access the trunk (or the boot for you European folks). I like this show. Don't love it, but like it.

when i first saw the promo's. for this show, i thought they might FINALLY have come up with a halfway decent premise for a non racing program.
the idea is a good one.
but the show is weak.
a huge dissapointment.

I like the concept of the show, but the execution just isn't there. I can't really fault Alonzo Bodden as he can only do as well or as poorly as what the producers, and the reaserchers give him.
A example of this was in the last episode "playing in the dirt" where they only drove 4 out of the 5 vehicles. If they could find a Fiat Jolly(which only 700 were made) how come they couldn't find a Ford Bronco to drive?? Ford made over 200,000 Bronco's in 11 years. How hard would it have been to go to one of the Bronco forums and find someone who would let them drive there bronco in that episode???
In Episode 6 "Party Over Where? Party Right Here" They drove a Hummer and a Willy's Jeep. I would have thought those two vehicles would have fit better in the Playing in the dirt episode. The Fiat Jolly should not have been in the playing in the dirt episode, as it just isn't a offroad vehical.
So I blame the problems on the people who produce the show not the Host.
