DMG may as well rename their series All Harley Road Racing.
and there's your one bike series. that could be kinda cool. speedvision used to air lawnmower races

I hope this MIC bubble does not collapse under the weight of the big nap-car money. Hopefully they can come up with agreements on major tracks that DMG cannot bully.
I wonder when there will be more on this from the OEMs.
I remain optimistic. Bring on The REAL Racing.

I don't think it will be hard to convince the non ISC tracks. Most of them have stated their largest attendance is the AMA weekend. Plus the fact most if not all of the race weekends besides Daytona are sponsored by the manufacturers. I can't imagine they would bow to DMG when the Grandam race crowds are so small. With ALMS finding enough tracks I think there will be enough to run a series.

Like was said earlier, I bet there were other organizations besides DMG to respond the the RFP for the series, so I bet there are a couple other organizations that have already done the homework. If one of them were smart they'd take the bull by the horns and set up a meeting with the 5 OEM's that race in the US now (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Ducati) and pitch it to them. Use existing WSBK rules (all of those OEM's, as well as BMW now, have bikes ready to race) and WSS, plus one other 'entry level' class and it could be done. Since the WSBK and WSS rules already exist, there isn't much to be done in the way of the rule book unless the OEM's want a different tire mfg besides Pirelli or a different spec fuel supplier. The only class they'd need to generate rules for would be the 'entry level' class.
It could be done in the limited time available. This approach would likely relegate the Daytona 200 to little more than an obscure club race. But given that they've been running Snoremula Extremelyboring bikes in the 200 for a few years it's not like it's a premier race any longer.

And IIRC, didn't Diamond P Sports televise some of the AMA races a few years back? Seems like they had the contract for Laconia when it was still running. So I'm sure there are folks who can televise. But if it looks to shape up as good racing I'd bet Speed might want a bite as well.

Rumor I've heard is that OEMs have been talking to WERA about officiating the races. ####, this is good news!
Looks as tho AMA Amateur execs are a lil pissed off still about the MIC intervention plan earlier, and WERA appears to be paying the price for its guilt by association.
