Toseland is doing fine for his first year with Yamaha. He let the pressure of racing at home get to him but for what is effectively a 'learning year' he's fine. Some guys thrive at home, some try to overachieve.

Spies also did fine - nothing earth shattering, nothing to imply he's the next Rossi but a reasonably level-headed approach to his first GP weekend, a definite silencing of those (I was one) who said if it rained he was in trouble and some fairly fast laps on worn tires after he settled down later in the race.

The 'they didn't win yet' crap gets old. Tech 3 has a total of, what, maybe 2 podiums in the teams history? Suzuki is slightly better. Neither rider is on top flight machinery and both are feeling their way through. Yeah, Lorenzo won a race, but his body is now paying for his early speed.

As for the Spies people talking all tough after qualifying... looks like the cream rose to the top and Ben sank to the bottom. Say what you want about playing it safe, but the only guy he straight up beat was Melandri. And we know how well Melandri is riding/feeling right now.

To be fair, most qualifying was in the wet. The race was the first time he was in the dry. He improved consistantly. The same can certainly not be said for Melandri.
to be ACCURATE, he had 2 free practice sessions in the dry. and in both cases, was well down the order. fact is, he never got the bike sorted out in THE DRY.

Sorry, it was only HALF the practice sessions. LOL I think Ben consistently improved, which is what the team was looking for.

That was originally what RR said the test was too, but he 'moved the bar'.

And yet another LJB "Classic". Same old same old. 95% of his posts use the same words reorganized to appear different.

I heard he was the poster boy for the "Ignorance is Bliss" slogan!
