Why is there no Karting forum section on these boards?!? Karting is where most of the great drivers from a variety of different racing disciplines got their start, and yet it gets no love on speedtv.com's message board where even "sim racing" has its own section...WTF.

IF there were more posts we might consider it. Create some traffic here and over a period of time it just might happen.

I know very little about carting.
No tracks around here, but I'll be
reading what you guys have to say.
Make a forum, I just might learn
something, I like that idea!

Karting is a brilliant form of motorsport. A karting section on this forum would be really great to bring karters together and also expose some new gear heads to the sport. Beyond a forum here I think a lot of us would like to see more karting on TV as well, the racing is close and very exciting with quite a bit of overtaking!

I race Enduro Karts on road race courses such as Portland Intl, Sears Point, Pacific Raceways to name a few. There are also races at Thunder Hill, Reno Ferndley.
KART is having their Grand Nationals this weekend and hearland Park.
IKF is having their Grand Nationals @ Portland July 15-18.
Top speed for my Kart is about 115mph. Lap time at Portland, same course that Champ Car uses, is in the high 1.28min range. Not quite as fast as CC but we're not spending millions either.
My kart runs a 125cc 2 stroke, water cooled motor w/ an axle clutch.
There are classes for 80cc shifters, 125cc shifters and 250cc shifter karts.
There are also 100cc axle clutch classes.
There are two different styles of karts, sit up or Enduro (laydown) and multiple classes, usually racing on the track at the same time. GREAT GREAT fun!
You can see my Kart, (Paul Clifton)and several others of the TaG-Enduro class at http://www.tag-enduro.com/ click on constructors.

I went with the Enduro style kart because it really is unique. I can run on the same track my "heroes" run on.
http://www.ekartingnews.com has a great "new to karting" FAQ section. They also have several catagories for those that have the need to chat and ask questions.

Get off the computer, and come racing!

You might want to think about starting another thread with Karting in the title; OBJECTION doesn't exactly scream Karting.
