If a class like this does not show up somewhere us fans are doomed to parades around the track. The COT is a self propelled billboard. The drivers are are rewarded for sponsor sales appeal. The most popular drivers get the big paycheck not the best in many situations. You know ahead of time that the winner will be the driver that got lucky and did not get into trouble.

If you would like to see what a real team effort would be like and what designers could do if give a chance and fabricators can do and see pass after pass because the cars will be different then a set of rules like this will give you that. Because of the weight and material limits you might just see something exciting from a team with out a large budget.

A good plan to keep costs down would be to have the race distance dictate no planned pit stops and two heat races with combined points to pick the winner. This way the teams could make changes between races and give the fans a good show.
