Greetings Bob (Varsha), et al,

I have been a rabid fan from the first day that Comcast carried Speedvision. I set both my DVR and Tivo to grab any and all F1 broadcasts.

Bob, you say one thing over and over that is like chalk on a blackboard to me. “Please join Steve, David and myself…” Myself is incorrect. “Please join Steve, David and me” is correct, myself is only used in sentences like “I looked at myself in the mirror” A quick test that you can use to see which word is correct is to remove the other objects (in this case Steve and David). Would you say “please join myself” or would you say “please join me”?

Some might say that this is a trivial thing but our words are one of the ways people judge us. You represent us, the race fans. We are not all Neanderthals. Please represent us like the gentleman that you are…. Oh and one more thing: don’t say a word to Mr. Hobbs we love his Hobbsisms and would not want him any other way!

Warmest regards,
Bald Bill

Hearing you say "please join Steve, David and myself" is like FINGERNAILS on a blackboard not like chalk on a blackboard. Kind of takes the wind out of my sails, doesn't it?

Again, Warmest regards,
Bald Bill

Be careful or the Geico cavemen may be offended.
I have never noticed Varsha's poor choice of words before, but he makes most other sports commentators sound as intelligent as a barrel sponge. You must have a hard time with all the poor grammer and spelling on these boards. I have learned to laugh it off. My own writing is full of mistakes much of the time and I try harder than many about not slaughtering the English language.
If you are an English professor, please take it easy on me.

Heh, I remember one incident in particular involving misogynists.

I have lived in Florida my entire life, so I have been forced to try to understand different dialects and slang along with some pretty tough accents even when people speak English. Even highly educated journalists screw up.

If the only thing you have to set a burr under your saddle is "me" vs "myself" - can I please dump a few of the worlds problems on you?

Dear Bald Bill,

I believe this heart warming personal critique to the point of which is, something we all as Auto Racing enthusiasts would really prefer to ... NOT SEE ... and my suggestion would be in the future to utilize the personal message option to Mr. Varsha for your private English Grammar criticisms.

Remember... this is supposed to be a MOTOR RACING network, not English 101.0 and Bob does a, Dad Gum Jim Dandy Job of it !!!

Love and Dangling Participles,

Casey wink

My English teaching taught that the proper statement would be " Steve, David and I....."
