If the liter bikes are going to be a non-purse factory support class and the 600's are going to be the feature class, who will be racing the 600 feature class and who will be fastest? Top 5 in order. Let's say Matt retires.

Zemke is back in FX doing well this year, and Miggy was far more successful in FX before the Honda factory team pulled out than he's been in AMA SB.
Of course, the FX Hondas will have to be de-tuned to meet the DSB class specs.

Yep... Hodgson potentially and Zemke [my fav rider in FX even though I admire Josh] and Miguel too. That pretty much summarizes the past champions in Supersport and FX I think. Ulriches's riders have been pretty competitive, Team Jordan is competive, others too. With the tech specs taking away some of the advantages the "factories" and support teams had... maybe the AMA Supersport/FX series renamed the AMA Superbike series for 09 will be higher quality than we think. Who's planning on getting out? Even if the factories don't play, all these riders potentially can field there own equipment with purse money presenting a reasonable operating budget. I mean 5k per race to lose down to 20th place is a big boast for most riders in the class.
