I would like to see a constructor series instead of a cookie-cutter series. Here is an outline of the rules I would like to see
One tire supplier, you can use any tire from that supplier that is available to everyone, no tire shaving or mods allowed.
A set of safety regs, very strict including rescue considerations
No exotic material allowed.
No exotic fabrication methods allowed.
Min weight 2,600 pounds, only 100 pounds of movable ballast.
Restrictor plate for 600 hp, yes that is possible.
Any engine, any size, any type, no turbo, not supercharger
No engine placement or orentation restrictions
Fuel ethanol
Car must have a top, no movable aero devices
Any wheelbase, any track
All wheel drive ok
No electronic control devices or traction control
Car must be a sedan with space for 4 seats, spare tire and a trunk that would have room for 10 cu feet in a regular shape, details to be developed.
Cars to be identified by the engine manufacturer
Teams must design and build the car that they race, including the engine.
I know this would take some refinement but I would like to go to races that would have such a car.
What do you think?

what you propose is sports prototypes with slightly different rules.

Good luck starting your new series. I'll stick with NASCAR & F1. Thanks anyway. Don't forget your checkbook.

So if he did get the series going and the racing was good you wouldn't watch?

Personally, I have very high standards of what a series needs to do before I'll tune into a race.
1) They have to have a TV contract.
Actually, that's about it...
Signature:
F1, IndyCar and your own two support series didn’t need it for a decent Championship battle. Even the Cup battle would’ve been closer without it! Memo to NASCAR: ERASE THE CHASE

I'm probably about the same.

I admire your creativity, but here's a tip...

The reason I thought this up is that the cars would have enough power to entertain and they would be different and passing would happen more often than cookie-cutter cars like NASCAR and IRL. I think it would make for more interesting racing and teams could be setup with lots of different kinds of funding. I'm tired of the parades around the race tracks.
