If you are truly upset with the lack of coverage involved with SX and MX, I suggest logging on to http://www.livenation.com , register for free, and then go to about us and then click on ask a question. Leave your comments on what you feel about the lack of MX and SX coverage. Live Nation is now in charge of the broadcast rights and media relations for the AMA. If we do not act fast I feel that they are going to ruin MX and SX coverage for good. Stations like CBS are willing to air the sport on regular broadcasting but they leave it to Speed to show weeks after the race. Imagine watching the evening news and seeing coverage and updates during the sports, reading about the weekend’s race in the newspaper or seeing commercials on the television about MX/SX events. All of these things can help promote our sport and I for one would like to see that those responsible at Live Nation start to take action and it will not happen unless you tell Live Nation what you want to see and demand it. As it currently is women’s golf, basketball and tennis receive more coverage then motocross even though we have many more fans. I posted this in the main forum but am reposting it in this one.

Dude, I'm guessing here but I think any stick and ball sport - including womens - has many more fans than MX. I wish that wasn't true, but it is. Until we can get minibikes as an extra curricular in school that will probably be the case. Though that hasn't seem to hurt napcars popularity.

In a perfect world I'd want every race live but I think the SX coverage has been pretty good the last couple of years. If they're not showing it live, next day air is pretty #### good. And the fact we got some races on a major network like CBS is also kick ass. This upcoming summer, having to wait a week for the MX nationals really blows. But at least we're seeing them and they're not on OLN/Verses network which nobody gets. I remember only a few years ago having to wait a week for the supercross races, before Clear Channel/Live Nation when they were still on espn2.

Women's sports teams don't sell out entire football stadiums either, nor do they attract more then 30,000 fans like at a National. You also don't have lines five miles long for them either like at the MXDN. You're telling me that women's golf deserves to be aired live all summer more then motocross? Live Nation has a lot they need to be doing to help the sport grow and to promote the major sponsors that are coming into it more then the should. The more people that tell Live Nation what they want to see with the sport they promote, the more Live Nation will start to take our sport seriously and give it the media coverage that MX and SX deserve. It is good that we at least get to watch the sport recorded on Speed but the sport has out grown the obscurity of airing it recorded a week after the fact.

The coverage has been better than years past - I'm happy. Not that things couldnt be better - but it takes time.

Didn't last year's coverage only show 1 moto completely and just highlights of the other? That was totally lame.

Agreed, I don't recall it being a full week wait like it will be this year, either. They played it on Tuesday afternoon. I bet the coverage will be the same - one moto, highlights of the other. Now with the one week gap its going to really suck. I don't like butchered coverage but if its next day air like the supercross was I'll live with it. But having to wait a week for butchered coverage, no way.
