That had to be the most boring Allstar race ever....It probably would have been more exciting watching the yellow paint on the wall dry. Man, Nascar needs to come up with something better than that if they want people to keep watching.
Like I said in the race thread, it appeared to me, since this was the first race for the Cup cars at Charlotte in the COT that they were using it for a test session for next week's 600.....seeing what they could do in terms of tire strategy, and how to set up their 600 cars, etc.
I thought it was pretty exciting. The Showdown was the best 40 laps of the season imo. The All Star race wasn't too bad, but it was nerve racking when those cars that had no tires were trying to hold off the faster cars.
Just reminded me of how much cars make the difference.
Juan and his car were doomed from the beginning to be mid packers. Those cars in the front are just so much faster . . . .
It looked to me like the Hendrick cars were working on tire wear in anticipation for the 600; I think all of the Hendrick cars went with a different tire strategy for the last segment. The Gibbs cars may have been working in the area of engine strength this weekend in anticipation of the season's longest race next weekend. I could be wrong, but that's how it appeared to me.
